What kind of noisemakers does everyone use? Do the coaches have some input on this or is it UIL driven on types of noisemakers. Wasn't it Stephenville who had the propane tanks with bb's in them? My boys like coffee cans with rocks and they are loud!!!

A lot of schools do the propane tanks with bb's in them. My senior year at Wylie (2000), a few of the parents got a lot of them and rented them out to the kids for playoff games in exchange for a deposit. As long as you returned the can, you got your money back.

Now Stephenville didn't just get the propane tanks...they get a bunch of them together...run a piece of PVC pipe through them...and have buys stationed between two cans to shake the cans up in down in unison. The reason for this you might ask? Because 8 cans making the same noise at the same time is A LOT louder than 8 cans making the same noise at seperate times. Those are some smart people in Stephenville I tell ya...

I like the clappers myself...but know lots of people use milk jugs filled with rocks, pennies, whatever.

When we were in Alabama...the JC crowd has the milk jugs...and the cheerleaders held signs..."Shake your JUGS"!!!

We got a kick out of that for some reason!!:p

I don't think Sinton has EVER used any of that stuff. Personally, they (noisemakers) drive me crazy. I will admit to loving the atmosphere they create!! I am a strange person. :D

I wonder if anyone has ever brought a jet engine to a playoff game.

I remember back in '95 Stephenville 2 crews with some 55 gallon drums with BBs or something in them. Must have been heavy as all get out, but man were they loud.

Those inflated long thingies make a lot of noise. Clappers, cow bells and propane tanks are big in La Grange.

Back in the day we had a train horn attached to a big compressed air tank and would blow the thing every time we made a good play. We would warn folks around us to hold their ears! Outlawed now btw.

Forney has something like that, a 5 foot tall 3 foot wide airtank with about 12 horns on it.

Stephenville: Ball-bearings inside of the tanks and or coffee cans... I had one made for me... custom built in Stephenville Texas...

I lost it, I think Spencer got ahold of it or something... I was playing so I couldn't exactly use it on the sideline... dunno what happened to it...
