I noticed Wylie had (and won) a basketball game against Big Spring tonight. Does your team postpone basketball until the football team is out of the playoffs?

Snyder played their first game tonight. Don't know if they won or not, I believe there are several starters playing football.

People we are about to embark on the 2006 Texas High School Football State Playoffs. Lets not talk about basketball. This is a 3a football board. Thanks

Some schools do postpone or cancel games altogether depending upon how far the football team goes. Gainesville fans can probably give a better answer to this one, but when Gainesville won state in football their basketball team made it to the state tournament the same year and only played 25 games total before playing in Austin. I think the head basketball coach, Tony Pinson, was also a football assistant so having your head basketball coach still coaching football could have something to do with it as well.

Not uncommon in 3A & below to cancel bball games during fb playoffs. You hardly ever see that in 4A & 5A due to more coaches, more kids, etc.

there is only one varsity basketball player here that plays football. Pretty weird for a 3A school!
