2003 Atlanta. When I left that stadium, I knew we had lost to the better team...............since then Daingerfield, who we pummelled later in the season, and Canton who we would have beaten 9 out of 10 times............When did you last leave a stadium thinking dayum, they kicked our tails?

The only time that I felt that way in high school was 1984 against Vernon in the second round...beat us 24-7. We lost one other game in high school against Post...but I think that we were the better team...

That was one of the worst teams we had in awhile. 3 different QB's started that year, and not because of injury.

Yeah that 41-0 wasnt any indication of how close it was. That game was right down to the wire. HAHAHA.

2003 Gainesville...there was no reason that Wylie should've even scored on that team. They were good!

Mardi Gras 2004. After-hours club on Sixth Street, some dude was looking for a fight. I obliged.

He was probably 6'4," maybe 150-160 lbs. I was about 5'9," 175, but didn't wait for him to throw the first punch. I stumbled over the five legs I had that night and landed what I thought was a knockout blow.

He fell back, looked dazed at first, and I took a second or two to collect myself from my stupor. He then popped right back up and looked me looked me square in the eye.

It was then I knew that I had lost, and I was going to get my a$$ kicked.

I woke up the next morning with some cracked knuckles and some broken pride.

We were one of the only teams to put up a fight against Wimberley last year, but it was still like one of those fights where one guy (us) keeps getting up and landing punches while the other guy (Wimberley) keeps knocking him down and wishing he'd just give up and start healing.

Flat got beat & knew it:

Football (spectator):
1983 Daingerfield beat Sweeny 42-0 in State Finals in Waco. Absolute domination over a very good Sweeny team, & by all accounts the best 3A team ever in Daingerfield.

Basketball (player):
1988-1989 senior year tourney in Kerrville
Shaquille O'Neal & SA Cole beat Sweeny like a drum; we were defending state champs but graduated most of talented squad (me & 2 others remained). It was ugly & he was a good guy. SA Cole won 3A title later that year (now 2A I think).

Opposite end of the spectrum:

Football (player):
Lost to Navasota 12-8 in State Semis & we were the better team; turnovers & weather hurt us & the Rattlers moved on to get throttled in the Finals to SLC. That one still hurts because we beat them everywhere except the scoreboard. Would have been fun to play SLC & give it a shot.

billy pittman's final game when we got drummed by jorrie adams, red bryant & co. wasnt pretty

Cameron in 2003 vs. Marlin
it was our worst season in school history and marlin went on the the state game, we lost 77-7 however we were the only team to score on them in district! :)

The last time Cuero got their asses kicked without a doubt was the first game of the '03 season... Only returned 2/3 starters from a 5-6 team and Rice Consolidated came in state-ranked and creamed us... final was 40-something to 21 maybe, but that 21 makes it seem closer, they really just kicked our asses and that's pretty much how it goes... everyone in Cuero was ready for a rematch though...

Cuero has only lost 3 games since that first game of '03 and have not lost by over 3 points... the closes to an ass-whuppin' we've had since then was probably Hutto, they were very physical, physical...
