WOW! Burkburnett didnt make the playoffs? How did they not get in? Didn't them and Vernon have the same district record and Burk beat them head to head?? what happened?

For Burk...they were either district champs or would finish in 4th place. Here is the scenario that came to pass:

scenarios
1. Vernon beats iowa park; Graham beats Burkburnett
--Graham is the district champ
--Vernon, Burkburnett & Hirschi tie at 2-2
--Vernon wins the point-system tiebreaker;
Hirschi wins on head-to-head with Burkburnett

amazing...from what I read it looked like there were only two teams tied for third and that was Vernon and Burk.

nevermind...just saw my mistake...still amazing...

all they had to do was win 1 of their last two to get in and they didnt

Back to the question though what is the story on Hirschi.

They run a single back spread offense with the QB in the shotgun on most plays. They like to run the option out of that utilizing the speed of the QB and the strength, low-center of gravity and shiftiness of the RB. RB is most effective running inside while the QB has great outside speed. On defense, you need to stay at home and execute your assignment. Don't let them outside. The QB is not big and doesn't break alot of tackles, but you have to get to him.

The D is quick/fast but you can run right at them with some success. You need an accurate passer who won't get greedy. You have to pick them apart with 5-10 yd patterns.

HA!HA! Wrong about a team and suddenly you are an idiot. I made the call about Burk on apparent bad info. I'll admit I should have done more research.With that said, how do Hirschi and Canyon match up. Both are spread teams right. Canyon's Defense has been suspect from what I read on other post. High scoring game?

srjorge, why don't you double check you info before you go off shooting your mouth.

both do run the spread, but from what i hear, hirschi's QB is the real deal, incredible speed and a terrific thrower

Hey chunky if you are so informed, let us in on all your wisdom. Will Canyon hold up to the (real deal)?

I THINK THEY CAN, BUT CANYON'S DEF SHOULD BE FINE, MIGHT EVEN SHUT THEM OUT. IT'S CANYON'S OFF THAT WORRIES ME. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY CAN GET BY THE FAST SECONDARY OF HIRSCHI, MIGHT PLAY STRAIGHT MAN AND BRING THE HOUSE
