wait until Bandera gets it team together...we will be on that top 20 before long. Lots of talent this year, we have a 6'6 that can shoot the lights out, nobody is ready for him, he didnt really get to play last year, due to seniors, and him being only a sophomore last year.

fairfield-7 thats respectable but do the polls know we already have team chemistry problems....i hope things get turned around if they do i will see fairfield in austin bc this is the most talented team in the state. and very exciting

What sort of chemistry problems? Surely whatever it is they will get it straighten out, because their main competition (Palestine, Mexia, and Madisonville) will be in the football playoffs and be behind Fairfield as far as basketball is concerned.

Just a lot of stuff going on...Last year they had injury problems and other things maybe they will have better luck this year because you need to be just as lucky as good to make it to the state tournament..And i think some of the chemistry stuff is due to being 1-8 in football so it will go away i hope

Wylie and their 3 year "basketball tradition" gets more love in the polls than the football team with a solid 20 year tradition.

I didn't because I haven't kept up with the basketball team. Others may have though. You hear the same thing out of Wylie posters every year though. Then again...every year they get a Top 5-10 ranking...go 25-5 or so in the regular season and challenge for the region 1 title. So I guess they can't be THAT bad!

#1, #6 and #12 all in the same District. How can Roosevelt be #1 and #18??

Fairfield should be the class of the district but Palestine has a lot back and Mexia and Madisonville are always solid so it should be fun.

The only reason Ranchview was so good was because they had 6'8 Katrina twins move in and now there gone so they will be down

gonzales will have a tough time in district this year, yoakum and cuero will be tough
Cuero will have three juniors that will push them close to the top of the district.

It's a rough district with those teams. With Ranchview though, they lost quite a bit and their 6'8" kid transferred to Kimball so that does surprise me a bit to see them that high considering how much was lost to graduation. If Velt's football team puts together a 2 or 3 round run they're going to lose some early on to SOC and a few others, but they are the best team in Class 3A this year in basketball. They return just about everyone from last year.

To be completely honest, Velt has enough talent in that program to field two playoff teams.
