Montana State signs $450,000 football contract with A&M

BOZEMAN -- The Montana State football program has a $450,000
contract to play Texas A&M next fall, school officials announced.

The Bobcats are scheduled to play the Aggies on Sept. 8 at Texas
Stadium in College Station, said MSU senior associate athletic
director Dan Davies.

It will be the third year in a row the Bobcats play a Big 12
opponent. Montana opened this season with a 19-10 victory over
Colorado and lost to Oklahoma State 15-10 in 2005.

MSU has never played Texas A&M, which has an 8-2 record and is
ranked No. 24 in this week's Associated Press NCAA Division I-A
poll. The program is known for its "The 12th Man," in which the
crowd at Kyle Field (capacity 82,600) stands for the entire game.

The Bobcats are also close to signing a contract to play host
Southern Utah next October, Davis said.

With Big Sky home games slated against Idaho State, Northern
Arizona, Sacramento State and Montana, Montana State will attempt
to schedule a sixth home game for 2007 in the near future, Davies
said.

In September 2008, the Bobcats are scheduled to play Minnesota
of the Big Ten Conference at the Metrodome.
