Everman players make college plans

Everman tight end Craig Boatwright orally committed to TCU, and Everman defensive tackle Brian Jones orally committed to Texas Tech. Both players will be seniors this fall. Oral commitments are nonbinding, and recruits can't sign a letter of intent until Feb. 4, 2004.

Boatwright (6-4, 215), who also plays defensive end, looked at Texas A&M and Texas Tech and said that he will redshirt his freshman year in hopes of gaining about 30 pounds. Jones (6-1, 270), who was an all-state selection last season, said he will probably redshirt his first season. He was also looking at Kansas State and Iowa State.
