This PS3 is going to be sold for two different prices, $400 and $600! The only difference is the speed of the modem!! And games are said to be sold at $80 a piece!! I'd rather go with the X-Box 360!!

That's false.

As of now Premium Package is $599 and the Regular Package is $499. The difference between the two is that the Premium package has 60GB HD, MemoryStick/SD/CompactFlash Slots, and IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. Most games are going for $59.99 as of now as well. I don't think either of the console will even have modems. They are running Ethernet (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T),

Lol, you know me too well.

The latest 360 update allowed for 1080p output through a VGA cable, so Sony can't hype 1080p gaming as exclusive to the PS3 anymore. Graphically you won't see much difference on most games. Most publishers will initially be coding games for the 360 and then porting it over to the PS3, at least until it's hardware numbers catch up to the 360. Onto the Blu Ray part. Blu Ray really needs the PS3 to succeed, cause right now HD DVD is out selling Blu Ray 4 to 1 as far as software goes. Movies that have appeared on both formats have either looked the same, or had a slight edge on HD DVD. The 360 HD DVD add on is available now, and it's picture quality is pretty darn good. Blu Ray on the PS3 is a big unknown performance wise right now. It has more than enough power to do a great job with it, it's just a question of how good the PS3's Blu Ray software program is. I'll be able to tell you alot more next Friday when I get my hands on one and put it through the Blu Ray playback paces.

Both are also shipping with Talladega Nights as a free Blu Ray movie pack in.

Their original plan at CES was to ship with The Fifth Element packed in, but that Blu Ray disc looks absolutely horrible. So you get Ricky Bobby instead

I sure wish I had a ps3 coming my way next week. I was a minute or two too late to get into a preorder. Oh well...I'll wait until next summer and see if EA does a better job with NCAA 08 than they did with 07. If all of the new stadium renderings aren't in 08 then it's not worth it IMO...especially when you add in some of the playing deficiencies.

There is still going to be 400,000 for North America at this time. They cut Japan's numbers by 20% to focus on our market. Most of the rumors seemed to be have started by people to drive up EBay prices.

If I do get my hands on one of the first I am going to make sure to get an extended warranty. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of bugs to work out.

That's the reason they are now going to ship without Linux installed. It was buggy as hell, but you'll be able to download it for free once the kinks are all worked out. They do put out alot of heat, so just make sure it's well ventilated, and you should be able to avoid most problems.

while I'm always going to be biased against sony, I say the 360 comes out ahead. ps always seems to have a cheaper feel to it. plus we have gears of war and halo 3 which so far, g.o.w. is AWESOME and halo 3 is a given blockbluster exclusive for the 360. plus 600 is a lot to toss out on a a system. factor 2 decent games upon launch, a second controller and good hdtv cables....ur lookin at close to a grand RETAIL.

I'm gonna go with the ps3 when I upgrade. Online will be free, more array of games and 3rd party support. The greatest online franchise ever(Socom) will be exclusive to it.

I need to get an HDTV first though.
