I realize there are certain people who can't handle news like this, but come on, you've gotta open your eyes to reality one of these days.

Hey if you want to discuss politics go to The Old Coach or over to Allsports. Politics are discussed on a daily basis on those two boards. And Allsports isn't monitored, so you can say whatever pops in your head. Shankbear is a regular poster on allsports. And if you go read his comments you'll see WHY political posts aren't allowed on 3ADL.

A little ways SW of San Antonio, almost directly N of Corpus Christi. Basically, it's out in the middle of nowhere. If you know where Floresville, Pleasanton, Kenedy, and Karnes City are, it's out that direction.

Great food and some of the nicest "scenery" in Texas. The Poth/Falls City Metroplex, George West, and Barbers Hill may have the best-looking women in the state.

The fact is that this board is more than football, and it's frustrating that we only have limited freedoms in what to talk about on a site that we spend so much time on. John, no I completely get the point. The point is that every political discussion this board's ever had devolves ten times quicker than an A&M/UT thread. A post about Britney breaking it off with K-Fed doesn't hurt as many feelings and doesn't give the board a different identity. I never want to see the Downlow turn into a political board. If I wanted that, I'd still post at Allsports.

I'll never support political discussions of any kind on this board, and I'll oppose anyone who does. Like I said earlier, there's absolutely no reason to find out how quick it WON'T work all over again.

This isn't even about me wanting political discussion to get brought back. I simply made a post about the Democrats taking the House. Nothing more, nothing less. I just wanted an answer as to why it's such a big deal. If somebody doesn't like it, that's tough, I fully expect them to keep to themselves and abide by the rules, as I would have done the same if the Republicans had won. I just wanted things to be a little fair and people to not have absolute certainy that everything is going to turn bad. I felt like my rights as a poster on this board were squashed because of lack of faith in the judgement of our posters and even in myself. That is the only problem that I had from the beginning. Have a little faith in us is all I ask, most of us are adults, or at least the people who care about it are. :thumbsup:
