Look at the his record against the big boys in the Big 12 & teams with winning records. And how about the margin in losses! Fran is not afraid to drive a program into the ground. Money can't buy happiness I guess...

Welcome to the world of college ball. It's not HS ball and developing these kids' character, it's about the bottom line. If you're paying someone $2 million a year, they'd better be producing for you. Period.

If they're not getting the job done, you don't just keep paying them that kind of jack. It's time to cut your losses and move on. It's like that in the real world.

Thanks Russ, well said.

And Carter 08, welcome to the real world. Results matter. And when they don't come, consequences happen. It's like that in every walk of life & every job you will ever have. This one is just more high profile than most others in the real world.

Someday you will understand. It's big business & high passion in big-time college football.

The #s don't lie. Facts are facts. And I also worked there after graduating, so my ties run a little deeper than just "going there". Thanks.

Here is my thoughts on this. A&M had finished with 8 or 9 wins the year that Slocum was fired so the organization gets what it deserves when they make such foolish decisions.

WRONG: RC went 6-6 in his final year of 2002. I respect RC & worked for him, but A&M needed a change. RC won lots of games including SWC & Big 12 Titles. We just could not get over the hump. The program was down sliding. Fran has not worked out. He's lost the respect of players & fans. So time to cut your losses & move on.

Easy for me to say when I don't owe him $10 million over the next 5 years!
