UT wins Big 12 Conference Tournament in Soccer!!

They beat Colorado in penalty kicks 5 - 4 after regulation and two Overtimes were tied at 1 - 1! This was a great game. I wish I could have gone. It will be on FSN but on a pay for view channel. :( What a wasted opportunity for the networks that show women's soccer to miss out on today. UT will automatically get a birth in the playoffs and should have home court advantage for several games. Way to go Lady Horns!!

This was a great game indeed and a great win for the Lady Horns. It was close and during regulation Colorado outplayed (though very close) the Lady Horns but the Lady Horns won which is why there is so much passion for soccer in the world. The game was decided by penalty kicks. In college soccer each team gets five penalty kicks. If no one has an advantage then they start having each team have one penalty kick until someone wins out. That is why this game wasn't decided till the sixth penalty kick. And man it must have been dramatic.

After the first three penalty kicks it was tied at 3 - 3. Then UT missed the fourth penalty kick and Colorado made their's making it 3 - 4 in favor of Colorado. UT made the fifth penalty kick and it was 4 - 4 but all Colorado had to do was make the fifth penalty kick and it would have been over. UT goalie Dianna Pffenninger made the save thus making it go to the sixth kick. UT made the kick and it was 5 - 4 with Colorado to try their kick. Dianna made the save thus giving Texas the win. A great match indeed. A good game by both teams. I just wish it could be shown on tv without expensive pay for view so we could all enjoy.

UT Goalie Dianna Pfenninger has just blocked the last penalty kick giving UT the win and is on her way to celebrate with the other UT soccer players. Awesome!

I agree 3a. The only thing I can think of is that the NCAA is afraid we won't have a draw. It is a shame Austin doesn't have more attendance at the games because they have a big stadium that they play at. Ironically if UT wins the two games there they will be hosting probably two rounds then. Their main competition seems to be UCON because UCON played Notre Dame to a scoreless tie and barely lost to UCLA. Hopefully our Ladies will continue their roll.
