I was listening to them run off those stats tonight at the end of the web broadcast and my gosh that's just ridiculous. How in the world do you put up 659 yards of offense in less than 18 minutes? I can only imagine what their scores and yardage totals would look like if they ever let their starters play a full game.

Can't wait til Gilmer actually has to play a game to see how their kids respond. Ya'll haven't played a close game yet have ya'll? But close games and good competition are just around the corner ;)

tatum played them the hardest i believe. that was one heck of a game till the 4th quarter. offensively, gilmer has more talent then the rest of 3a. they do however has one glaring weakness, and this could keep them from winning state... if they meet another offensively blessed team.

Gilmer scored the TD which made it 38-21 about halfway through the third quarter in the Tatum game, so, no, Tatum was not in it until the fourth quarter. Final was 45-21.

Actually, Daingerfield played Gilmer a lot better game than Tatum did and the margin of victory was closer as well at 62-42.

I certainly dont want to be one to doubt the inevitability of a Gilmer State Championship ring, but from a strictly statistical point of view, Gilmer's poor ranking on defense and their weak schedule (all based on Massey) would raise questions as to what will happen when they play teams who have a high powered offense and a good defense. I suspect Gilmer will just simply out-score them, but this will get interesting come state semi-finals and the final game.
