I cant stand the Horns....but i think that the kid played well in that game. the REC's droped some early balls...that might have made the difference.

Kid appears to be the real deal.

i think McCoy is a good fit at texas. he is also surrounded by so much talent on the receiving corps, the line the rb's. the defense too, but thats sort of around the corner from his expertise...i really forsee alot of great things to come with him taking the snaps.

i have said aggies suck, but was only trying to get on someone's nerves. the aggies are my second favorite team behind the longhorns. so i guess i make up half of the 3rd person...:D

I'm really excited about where McCoy could end up by the end of things...but I think he'll have some worse numbers next year when he loses some playmakers and his offensive line, since next year will be a rebuilding-ish one for us, but I think by his Junior year we should have a tough team and he'll be a much more athletic Major Applewhite style QB (i.e. a winner).

The great pro QB Norm Van Brocklin who won two championships and coached many years and was a broadcaster once said for a QB to be effective (besides natural talent) that a QB had to have three things.

l. Good blocking. If you don't have time you can't do any good no matter what your talent.

2. Good receivers. You got to have receivers who can get open and catch the ball.

3. A good running game. This takes some pressure off if the other teams knows you have players who can run the ball.

I also feel that a good defense helps especially if they can bail you out when you throw that occassional interception or have a fumble. Plus they can help you get the ball in good field position. Good Specialty team play helps too.

I like Texas, Tech and A&M....in that order.

Like all 3 of them above ANY out of state team.

Husband was invited to "walk on" at Tech way back when...so he is a big Tech fan.

Last Saturday was fun at our house!!:D :D :D

Yea my dad got offered a full ride to Texas to play football and baseball, decided against it and went to St. Edwards, back then it was like $500 a semester at Texas and $3000 at St. Eds. haha, I make fun of him for it all the time but he always says if he didnt do it he may never have met mom etc. etc... I was almost born A Texas fan!

Colt McCoy has done a great job & showed lots of poise & maturity beyond his years. This Aggie gives him much credit.

He may rewrite the record book by the time he leaves UT.

Seems like a very good kid too. Being the son of a coach shows up every week. Let's not forget the team around him too...that helps a bunch. Colt was a fine athlete at Tuscola Jim Ned (went to State in basketball too). I laugh at my Longhorn friends who now are on his bandwagon after saying he would NEVER see the field at Texas. Some people never give small school kids a chance. Maybe now they will a little more.

Texas - Colt McCoy (2A Tuscola Jim Ned)
A&M - Stephen McGee (then 3A Burnet)
Baylor - Shawn Bell (3A China Spring & now out w/ knee injury)

Good stuff!
