evidently they didn't count one of cuero's 1st place votes.
Cuero had 187 points, Gilmer had 182. Got some bad info. Wasn't done on purpose.

The poll has been corrected, I just checked it. My guess is that one of Curero's first-place votes was credited to Comanche, who is no longer listed. Cuero is still No. 1 followed by Gilmer and Giddings.

I've seen a few different polls on diff websites, I hope the bye didn't hurt Cuero.
It is just a poll, and doesn't count in the end, but it doesn't hurt to brag about your teams spot!!

The only poll that matters is AP.

Evidently, they put the wrong poll out.

it was close enuf ............. any top ten is more like a "list of good teams that could make a long playoff run" anyway

It takes skill, determination, and heart, which plenty of teams have, but more importantly, you have to get good breaks along the way!

and is that because they are voted on by journalists who have never seen them play and are just going by scores?

Don't worry, actually these polls are only good for conversation. The beauty of it all is everything will play itself out on the football field. It's all about the last man standing.

Not anymore. That changed when they went to two divisions. It would only be an accidental phenomenon if No. 1 and 2 ever met now. And it's for sure NOT going to happen this year, in terms of this particular poll anyway.
