Can the bobcats win it all in 3a d-2 this year?I know there are some good teams that are going to be d-2.Ive only seen one other top team and that was giddings.Celina would have no problem with them IMO.

I don't think you can over look Madison or Sweetwater. Who ever comes out of region 3 and 4 will be pretty salty for sure. Can Celina do it? They have a young team this year, but even their youngsters have 16 games of experience from last year. That could help them.

I do think this will be a tougher road than last year for the Bobcats, but they have a good chance and they know what it takes to win it all.

You know what? We are thankful to have made it this far in 3A and each and every victory from this point on will be another blessing. Yes it will be tough to beat Madison:eek: , Sweetwater:eek: , Cuero:eek: , and whomever else we run into in the playoffs. Gilmer :eek: will go D1 I think. We just hope our little 3A team can stay on the field with all these perenial 3A powerhouses. :D

Celina will have it hands full with DM , SW and whoever else they play out of their region .I myself think that Discipline and Execution will get you far and Celina has both but do I think they will win it all .......no . In D2 region 3 and 4 will no doubt be the thoughest competition in the state (Cuero, Wimberly, Hondo, Giddings, WOS, Liberty Hill, Bellville and others) and the toughest road to to the finals. Whoever wins this war will be tested and experienced in big games. Region 1 and 2 have some good teams but there will be no road to the chamionship in D1 or D2 that will be as hard as D2 region 3 & 4.

Who have we played? Check out Robinson, Argyle Christian, and Prestonwood Christian. They are very good teams. And as far as Region 3 and Region 4 being being a tough road to the championship...I totally agree, but I think that , just by luck of the draw, this will play hugh in Celina's favor. After the Region 3 and 4 teams battle it out as to which ONE team we will play, we will come in and hopefully beat a severly beat up, limping, and mentally drained team. We, region 1 or (I'm rooting for us) region 2 team will have much fresher legs.

Private schools carry absolutely zero weight when making an arguement about how tough your schedule is. As far as Celina catching a break by letting Reg 3 and Reg 4 beat each other up. You may not have a chance to take advantage of it, because you will more than likely have to go through Sweetwater to get there. Good Luck with that! Good to see the Cuero fans have as much respect for Wimberley as we do for Cuero (Gobbler Fan and Green Machine in particular). Sure, we dream and discuss how great it would be to go back to the "big dance"...but we ALL know we must get through Cuero first. So thats really the only future play off game we think about with intensity ("we" being fans...I am sure the coaches are only thinking of the games of the upcoming week!). With that said, of course Wimberley should be considered as a team that has a chance to win it all.

I don't want to get in the middle of a good fight, but I T'vo'd the Celina vs Pilot Point game. I ran the game and on Celina's 1st possession of the 3rd quarter, Pilot Point forced Celina to punt. The wide out on Celina's left side was uncovered and the punter did not fake or even hesitate. He took the snap and threw the ball to a wide open receiver.

My opinion is that the coaches that teach their players to do the right things and let them make decisions is not a lack class, but it is good football and well coached players. It is not the coaches fault or the punter's fault that no one bothered to cover the wide receiver and in my humble opinion, class has nothing to do it.

If you don't coach and practice those things in real games, then how do you have realistic expectations that that kind of play occurs in the playoffs when one mistake can mean the ball game. So Hansum, I will just agree to disagree as to whether that is a football issue or a class issue.

If the other team decides to cover the wide out on that play, this discussion doesn't even take place.

Is Pilot Point's decision to not cover the wideout a show of class if throwing to the uncovered wideout is classless?

One other question, where in tastefull football ettiquette is the rule that if you get ahead by 33 you are to teach your football players to stop trying their best?

I have seen where a team was easily winning a game and they kicked off late in the game and the kicker slipped and it looked like an onside kick. Guess what the coach for that team did. He showed class. He called time out, called the refs over, then met the other coach at midfield and apologized for that happening. The coach ran 3 runs up the middle for no gain and then punted the ball to the other team. That PAL shows alot of CLASS.

I don't recall at this moment what we did as far as scoring goes on that series, but I do know we could have beat Celina's biggest rival for years 100-0 if we wanted to. So I guess we showed some class.

No, it was 2002. Celina lost to Gilmer the next year in the second round. We then moved backed to 2A. Lost to State Champ Crawford in 2004, won the Championship in 2005.

Nope, my youngest graduated last year. I had three boys who played 7 years of football each, two of them All-State players.
