Pirate4State's comment got me to thinking........ What are some memorable Run-Through signs you've seen over the years? One that we (Cuero) see alot during the playoffs is something like:

Stuff the Turkeys (how clever :rolleyes: )

Back in my high school days at Port Lavaca Calhoun......:eek: :eek: :eek: ...folks had lots of fun with the "Sancrabs"!!!!!...:( :(

If you can imagine it....we more than likely saw it....

Glad to see them Kicking some Bootie now!!!!!:clap: :clap:

in 95 our cheerleaders made a sign for the first round of the playoffs that said

"Remember the last time we lost? We Don't"

We won that game and played Commerce the next week in the 2nd round and Commerce's sign said

"Remember the last time ya'll lost? We do"

Our last loss was to Commerce the year before in the second round. That was pretty clever.

well there was the Burnet "sponsered by Firestone Tires" sign at our game. Something about them driving blah, blah, blah...:D

when Forney played SLC in the 3A Region II final at Texas Stadium in '91 or '92 SLC had a sign that said "FORNEY - HOW CORNY" :nerd:

I have a funny memory of a run through sign. My sophomore year we were running out and a guy jumped and tried to break through it and he ended up landing on his butt. So funny.

when I was in HS (Cove) we were waiting to run thru our sign - forget who we were about to play - and some random person ran through our opponents sign ........... local law enforcement escorted him away and i assume he missed the game

i remember hearin a story from highland park where they were playing a team who's mascots were the mustangs. Their sign read:

"If we wanted to have a Mustang, our daddies would get one for us.

It was a local tire company...

"(name of tire company) Tires says You can make us drive 250 miles but you can't TIRE us out"

Or something like that...

Sad thing is, it wasn't as cheesy as the one they had at Victoria for the Wharton game that year.

That's tacky.

(Not on a run through sign, but the smaller signs that get put up around the stadium.) We have seen our fair share of signs (at away games) that say "...Pluck U..." with a picture of a turkey missing feathers (LaVernia game for one).
I myself could not believe that the school sponsors, principal, etc. would allow that.

we get bash the badgers with a badger being hit by a hammer and anson had one that said "MERKEL BADGERS gag me with a spoon."...we didn't quite understand that one.

most all of the other 2A teams we've played have had a tunnel though.

I like ours it is plain and just a sign no tunnell or nothing.
