Yes, It's still a big rivalry. Always bigger when both teams have winning records, dist title on the line, stuff like that. Especially for the oldtimers this game means more than any other. 1-9 is a
good year if the 1 win was in the" battle of the bell".
Hutto/Cameron I wouldnt say have a rivalry, only played 5-7 times just some bad blood here recently, and I don't see one in the future because Hutto will be 4a after next year and probably 5a in next 2 alignments. Rockdale/ Cameron have been playing since the 30's and 50+ years for the Bell.
If you can come check it out, gonna spoil the yoe's season, throw a wrench in 18-3a and have a 3 way tie Tigers,yoe, & ducks.

So....this game hasnt had much fanfare this year because of alot of reasons but playoff implications are pretty much out the window now. Hutto & Liberty Hill are in & Cameron would have to lose by 20+ to not get 3rd place. So.....that being said, this is usually a competive game but keep in mind, since the 1996 season, Rockdale has won this battle ONE TIME (when Cameron went 1-9 in '03 and even that was by like 3 points). Cameron SHOULD run away with this one but are they already looking ahead to Liberty Hill in week 10?.....

If you get a chance, come a little early and go to the high school lunch area before the game. The local Rotary Club is having a spaggetti dinner as a fund raiser. The food is less than 150 yards from the main stadium gate. Good food and a great game, what else can you ask for. I promise one other thing: the atmospher will be at fourth round playoff intensity with a FULL house.

Hm...Depending on which Rockdale team that shows up. This game could be good for the Tigers or really bad. If the team that showed up and played the second half against China Springs does then Rockdale will win. If the team that showed up against LH comes then Cameron will win.

A Rockdale win and a Taylor loss, followed by another Taylor and Cameron loss in the final week of district, would place the teams in a 3-way tie for the 3rd place playoff spot. Go Tigers, there is still a chance if you want it bad enough.

Believe or not,I've actually been to about 4 to 5 different games at Rockdale Stadium. It always seems to be slanted to the home side. BTW,it was about the 2 point conversion where the QB fell on his butt about the 1 and 1/2 yard line then gets up and reaches over the goal line. :D :D :clap: :clap:

Actually, Cameron players openly admit to holding. I know that it has happened to me and a lot of other players from other teams. Don't get me wrong, it happens everywhere and that is the nature of the game, doing whatever it takes to win I guess.

You're right, Rockdale has decent fans, and if we're winning, we have really great fans. Usually about 2/3 of the stands are full regardless, so that's always a plus.

You need to watch more games at Tiger field. This year the refs evidently have riden to the games with the opposing teams mascot. The calls have been horible against the Tigers (at home and away). Last Friday night after the Tigers scored to tie the game teh Tiger RB had stopped and turned to run to the sidelines from the back of the endzone and was pushed from behind by a duck defender. The push was so hard it threw the Tiger RB to the ground right in front of the official.

The week before the referee was not able to run. He was about 84 yrs old and had a bad leg. We seem to be getting the officials that were slated for the old timers games this year.............

Of course we are sitting in kinda the old folks area, I've had those same seats for 9 years and the people behind me are always asking me to sit down or something I've ask them to trade but then they say our noise makers would be too loud.

Call it what you like, but I think that both teams have a lot of both, Rockdale has just been outcoached several times in the past. I don't think that is going to happen with Miller at the helm, I'm very impressed with the job that he's doing with those guys.

where exactly did you read any excuses in my previous post? I was just stating that I had seen cameron play in a game earlier this year and the holding/illegal blocks were insane. It was to let the kids from rockdale know that they need to take care of themselves on the field and be aware of some of the dangerous stuff (chop blocks, aka hi-low). I'm sure the coaches in rockdale have told the kids about it and coached em up. If they haven't that's their fault. And no, i'm not from rockdale. Not even close.
