he had one bad throw where he thought about not throwing it before getting sack and still threw it. He is as has been notice by several ex QBs in the NFL a young Brett Favre

Dallas wont find a QB till that old fart Parcells hits the road....He is still old school and he picks up old washed up prospects and unknowns(Bledsoe,Romo)

How can you even put favre and romo in the same sentence? That is ridiculous.... Favre has proven himself many times, and is now going downhill and will retire and go to the hall of fame. romo cant hold a candle to favre, hes not even close

I really like Romo, especially compared to Bledsoe. Romo has the mobility to keep the play alive, also the legs to get some yards when nothing is open. He has done a good job of getting Witten and TO involved in the offense. The running game is alot better when it's not 2nd or 3rd and long. He looked more confident tonight and should improve with experience.

you cant just snap your fingers and all of a sudden have a great QB. It doesnt work that way in the NFL. The Cowboys will have to go with Romo for this year and probably next and then see what will happen.

bulldogman06
10-30-2006, 11:31 AM
it doesnt work that way in the nfl??? kurt warner, marc bulger, tom brady, how does it not just work like that sometimes??? how about rich gannon all of a sudden for the raiders a few years ago. or Brees getting benched early in his career and then all of a sudden being a pro-bowler

Hes got the rest of the season to prove he is the QB they are looking for, otherwise they will find one like bledsoe who are the end of their careers. If u want a top qb in the draft then u have to basically lose all ur ball games and i dont see Jerry Jones setttling for that for one season. So its either sign a old veteran or get lucky and find one that comes out of nowhere(Romo:) )

and how do you get them to come to Dallas? High profile QB's dont want to play here. They dont want to play for Jerry Jones. You are right, ROMO might be the next big thing to come out of nowhere but in free agency they will NOT be able to get a big name QB here.

bulldogman06

simple... you can trade barber and/or romo to some low team and get their pick, get either troy smith or brady quinn, strengthen the line, and let the offense grow...

kaorder1999
10-30-2006, 11:48 AM
a team isn't going to trade their Top 5 pick for Barner or Romo. I don't think a team would trade a Top 20 pick for that.

are you serious? You dont go to the superbowl without talent at QB. It doesn't happen. The QB has to lead his team there. You dont throw any spare in at QB and get to that game. Especially when the QB took the reigns this early in the season...

You cant go to the super bowl without a great qb??? ok, how about Baltimore '01 and Tampa '03? not great qbs at all, and there are more teams, they just needed a qb. if the defense is good enough and the qb is average you can win a super bowl

Of course Dilfer wasn't great. BUT...he was talented enough to lead his team.

You use all these guys as examples that stepped in and took over and ended being GREAT qb's. Brady steps in for Bledsoe. How do you know that Romo isnt the next Brady? I thought that benching Bledsoe last Monday was a big mistake. The decision worked this week.

bulldogman06
10-30-2006, 01:36 PM
OK, ill break it down. You said you have to have talent at qb. Doesnt Bledsoe have talent?? i dont think its about talent, its about intagibles, like Brady, Big Ben, Palmer, Manning, the guys who may not have the best arms or the most speed but have good vision and the ability to lead.

Two, How many picks did Brady have his first start? because Romo had 3 and he didnt even play a full game.

kaorder1999
10-30-2006, 01:40 PM
#1....I never said that just because a QB has talent, they will go to the SuperBowl. I did say that in order to get to the Super Bowl your QB needs to have talent. #2. Romo threw one interception in his first start.

kaorder1999
10-30-2006, 01:43 PM

Not saying that Romo doesn't deserve to start, just pointing out that Bledsoe is one of the premier passers of his time, whether or not this generation chooses to realize it. A likely HOFer, and the first guy to come along that pundits believed had a shot at the lofty passing records of my childhood idol, Dan Marino.

The only other two QB's to come along since then grouped into this category? Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

bulldogman06
10-30-2006, 02:11 PM
Let me clear my point. I believe Bledsoe should be starting over Romo. I have said that many times. Im saying that The QB choices for the cowboys havent been good lately. Bledsoe should be a hall of famer, I think he deserves it. Thats why earlier in this thread when someone said a qb needs talent to get to the super bowl I said Bledsoe has talent.

kaorder1999
10-30-2006, 02:17 PM
you are pissing me off. WHEN DID I SAY BLEDSOE DIDNT HAVE TALENT? WHEN DID I SAY BLEDSOE COULDNT TAKE THEM TO THE SUPERBOWL? If you paid attention to the board you would have read over and over again that the I thought the decision to put Romo in Monday night was HUGE mistake. I was responding to your comments about getting rid of Romo and getting a good quarterback. You said you were tired of people saying that Romo was good.

YOU SAID
I am a cowboys fan but it hurts me to see people sayin romo is good, we need better!

AND I SAID
you cant just snap your fingers and all of a sudden have a great QB. It doesnt work that way in the NFL. The Cowboys will have to go with Romo for this year and probably next and then see what will happen.

You didn't say the better choice was Bledsoe. You said that we needed to trade Romo and get a draft pick.

there is no question Bledsoe can put points up on the board and he showed he could against the Texans, Redskins and Titans. Those teams gave him time to pass and he shred the defense. But against the good pass rushing defenses he played poorly because no time to throw because he cant get away from a rush.
Dallas offense with all the problems its had is only 17 points less than the highest scoring team in the NFL the Chicago Bears with 221 and Dallas is at 204 which comes out to 29+ points a game. Now if Romo can handle the soft defenses, look for the cowboys to go on a long win streak.

10-31-2006, 01:34 AM
Why I like Romo over Bledsoe...

1.) More mobility
2.) MUCH FASTER release
3.) If he throws three interceptions we can still say he is young and learning... (unlike Bledsoe)
4.) I believe Bledsoe is done. Reminds me of Aikman his last few years. Playing Bledsoe this year to me is like throwing in the towel on the season. If we are doing that... then play ROMO and figure out what ya got.
