Kobayashi wolfs down 97 burgers

Japan's Takeru Kobayashi, heralded as the worldwide leader in hot dog eating, can add King of Hamburgers to his title after finishing first at the Krystal Square Off III World Hamburger Eating Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Kobayashi swallowed the previous world record of 69 burgers by downing 97 of Krystal's square hamburgers in the eight-minute contest.

ummmm okay 97 hotdogs is alot, but they were burgers!!! but hey, its awesome how this guy traines. in his home country, diners will challenge him to eating large pots of lomein with tons of that hot sauce. he says that he feels like his stomach is going to burst after he completely downs the pot. they up the ante each time he eats more and more.

whats even freakier is that the dude looks ballemic. you would expect him to be 800 pounds.

Krystal's burgers are tiny! There are only a few around Texas, but one opened up here in Denton about six months ago...when you order them, they come in threes because they're so small. Instead of buns, they're actually put on bread rolls...

Sorry to burst everybody's bubbles, but even though 97 is impressive, it's not nearly as impressive as it sounds.

Did they show this on TV last night? I was 'surfing' when I got in bed and ran across some eating contest where they were eating burgers.

It grossed me out, food falling out of their mouth, gagging, cramming it back in there....YUCK!!!!
