If Gatesville wins this they pretty much lock up the D1 playoff berth in 17-3A and a first round game against Hutto. I'm not really sure though who is going to win because Gatesville is going to be without their best WR until the China Spring game on Nov. 10th. That's a big blow to the Hornets offense to not have that kid out there for the next two games. Losing him might be enough for LaVega to pull off an upset tonight and when you also factor in the recent history in this rivalry over the last decade something wild is probably going to happen as well.
I hope Gatesville pulls this out and runs the win streak to 5 games, but it's going to take their best game of the season, by far, to win tonight over in Bellmead. Last year they pulled one out over there in overtime. They weren't quite as fortunate in 2001 or 2003 though against the Pirates over there though. Either way it should be a pretty entertaining game tonight for the folks going to watch it. There will probably be something happen tonight that defies any logic if the pattern from 01,03, and 05 holds true!
