thats why in fastpitch we teach officials to never, ever, no exceptions, dont even think about TOUCHING A PLAYER

a pre-game conference handshake or after the game handshake is OK, but during the game - NEVER - NO EXCEPTIONS

The official should of not picked up the kid like he did. The dad/coach over-reacted big time. The best policy for all officials is hands off, that way your intent can never be questioned like its gonna be in that Cali video.

even in the case of injury (unless you are a trained, licensed EMT) or a fight - DON'T TOUCH !!!

It "looks" like the official was helping the boy up and the kid started mouthing, then the official started "talking" to the kid. But, what do I know?

you can tell by the kids "body language" that he WAS NOT HAPPY that the official picked him up.

That's what it looked like to me too. The ref picked the kid up - the kids feet were off of the ground. Looks like the ref over did it a little.

IMO humble opinion ot looked like the kid was kinda kicking and flailing with kids on him and the Ref thought he was doing the right thing bu getting the kid off the pile....I think it looks worse because of the kid ALREADY is kicking...EITHER way the parent overreacts BIG time.

From what I saw the kid was punching the kids on the ground that tackled him. The ref picked the kid up, and yes he probably should have just thrown a flag and ejected the kid. But, The parent running out on the field should never be allowed back. Period!!!! If my kid was on either of those teams I'd be furious. All he is teaching these kids by his actions is poor sportsmanship and violence is the answer to all. It's no doubt where this kid learned to punch and kick when tackled, he learned it from you Dad..............
