If the Byron Leftwich game is the one where his team had to carry him down the field for the next play because he hurt his leg, I vote for that one.

No that was in a regular season game...

I know we are being homers picking VY in the Rose Bowl, but throwing for 700 yards is nuts. You rarely hear of team gaining 500 yards of total offense in a game. By the way, does anybody know how much they rushed for in that game?

I voted for the 400+ receiving yards against Nebraska. That was a ridiculous game to watch. Yeah...the homers will kill this poll. I'm wondering how Phil will be able to decide between VY and Red Grange! ;)

What about when LT for TCU broke the single game rushing record with 405 yards and he had a 80 yard TD run called back in that game.

and the board.

All of the feats seem fantastic, but competition that they were achieved against brings some of them into question.

Don't know why this would be considered homerism.
What VY did against the greatest college football team in history (according to ESPN) has to be ranked as the top achievement. Plus it's most recent so it's still fresh in everybody's memory

its considered homerism because he didnt do it all by himself, he had key blocks and RBs to help along the way... 400 yards of receptions and over 700 yards passing and Vince Young is the leader... seriously, drop the orange shades

And if anything, the LaTech guy should be leading... against the Defending National Champs...

Vy didnt do it by himself your right but the reciever did? What did he throw the ball up in the air and run under it and catch it like a little kid in the backyard

I just don't know how voting for a guy that threw for 267 yards and ran for 200 more with the national title at stake, necessairily makes you a homer.

prolly because there are people who put up more yards, in games that they weren't expected to win or bigger then the USC/Texas game

Bigger than the national championship game?

Vince is winning this poll by almost 17% on ESPN, so I guess the whole nation is a bunch of homers for the Univ of Texas.

Can't be a bigger game than the National championship one and UT wasn't expected to win by 90% of people in US.

Winning by 17% is alittle different then winning by 50%

Not disputing that, was just showing that lots of people across the country felt it was the greatest performance ever. I personally don't think it's the greatest performance ever, definitely top 5 though. But I don't think you can label someone a homer for voting for it.

I think under the circumstances and having to come back and being in the NC in the Rose Bowl has a lot to do with. Just with the history of the stadium and it being the NC.

I can definitely see where people would feel that it was. Like I said, it's definitely in my top 5, and i'm not going to label someone as a homer for voting for it.

Just all boils down to personal opinion.
