Buckman fails drug test. (http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/stories/other/10/24/24buckman.html)

Looks like Buckman's career in Greece is in jeopardy.

Kind of odd to not tell someone though.

That's crap. Buckman was a good player and always seemed like a good man. I hate that had to happen to him. He was always one of my favorites.

I am a huge fan of collegiate basketball, and I am always impressed by any white boy who gets to play college basketball. :D

OMG!!!!! Not a Longhorn...no way....they are perfect....

In my opinion...it did not "happen to him" his actions caused it to happen....no matter what excuses are made for him. (and yes, I would feel the same way if it were a former player from 'my chosen college team'.)

If the medication is prescribed by a doctor, should not be a problem once they clear everything up. Sounds as if he was NOT doing anything wrong. $100,000 is a lot of money, hope it works out for him.

Might want to check out what Billy Gillispie is doing with Aggie basketball before popping off. And the preseason rankings!

Hope Buckman gets it cleared up. Seemed like a good guy.

Adderall counts as drugs?? Really??

Well, if rules forbid it, it's his fault. But seriously, adderall????

I think it's the fact that he didn't TELL them beforehand that he was taking adderall, and not the fact that he's taking it.

The second round run last year was nice but its all about what you do in the tourney so we will see what a&ms all about this year. Im not doubting the ags i think they have a real good team but with a lot to prove

They have nothing to prove in terms of the NCAA tournament. They have shown they know what it takes to get there and can do it. The only thing that they have to "prove" is if they can handle the pressure of being the big dog in the Big 12.

I'm thinking Kansas is probably the big dog in the Big 12.

What I meant by that was that they have a target on their back and everyone wants to beat them to look better. They are, in essence, a big dog of the Big 12

Kansas & A&M are picked 1-2 in the Big 12.

Texas advanced one round further last year & both A&M & Texas lost to LSU (A&M on buzzer beater).

Texas lost all 5 starters from that team, while A&M lost 1 player who contributed (& return 2 All Big 12 players in Jones & Law). Gillispie took a team his 1st year that won 0 Big 12 games under Watkins & went 8-8 in league play (NIT), to last year's NCAA 2nd round group, to where he is now ranked in the Top 15 nationally. Highly rated recruiting classes also, including 2 Top 10 classes counting the current one about to sign in November for the Ags. Major facility upgrades too. Gillispie has beaten Texas twice in his 1st 2 years. Not bad for a guy from Graford, TX.

NO doubt Texas has a fine program under Barnes - & also a very young team heading into this year. See what happens...but A&M has raised the bar in a short amount of time. I'll take veterans over youth anyday in the rugged Big 12.
