Can Div II Reg II really be that bare?

Also, Div II doesn't seem as deviod of top teams as some seem to believe...

Assuming Gatesville could get past Hutto.....and that is a big IF....wouldn't it be amazing for a team that got beat 84-10 very easily be the D3 representative come week 3 of playoffs? I honestly don't see any team in region 3 or 4 (aside from Hutto) that could beat them.....

This has been a strange year in 3A.

I think it will be Vernon and not Hirschi in District 6.

If it was to work out this way the #1 seed of 3-3A will get a tougher bracket than the #2 seed in 3-3A. According to this prediction #1 seed would face Brownfield first and then Monahans and Sweetwater would be the next obtacles.

The #2 seed would face Seminole, then Clint , and then Perryton?

That would be crazy!

Too many things could and will happen between now and then. Just an observation.

That's kinda what I was thinking too. #2 from the district should AT LEAST make it to round 3.

7-3A and 8-3A are very good, too bad they have to play each other in the first round. Sanger and especially Argyle will surprise, though.

Amazing that the DII RII quarterfinalist from the lower half of the regional bracket is likely to be either Brownsboro (11-2), Lake Worth (10-3) or Atlanta (6-7).

WOW

Some early Quarterfinalist picks, based on these projections (which are obviously subject to change)

DI
Fort Stockton (10-2) vs. Decatur (12-0)
Royse City/Prosper vs. Gilmer (12-0)
Hutto (10-2) vs. Silsbee (10-2)
Hondo (12-0) vs. Ingleside (10-2)

DII
Greenwood/Sweetwater vs. Argyle (11-2)
Celina (13-0) vs. Brownsboro (11-2)
Giddings vs. Liberty Hill (10-2)
Wimberley/Cuero vs. Rio Hondo (13-0)

State Championships:

Gilmer (14-0) vs. Hutto (12-2)
Celina (15-0) vs. Cuero (15-0)

2151,

Celina's defense is very fast and should be able to slow mcneal enough to force the rest of the team to beat them. The bobcat offense can pound the usual running game and dictate the flow of the game.

Lincoln was able to limit McNeal and lost a close, low scoring game. Celina's offense is better than Lincoln's, and the defense is better as well.

People have been predicting all that since last season ended!

That's what we do!

It is early, but it provides a good picture of how the playoffs will likely shape up to be in November.

I tried to tell him Z. Poor guy won't listen to reason. See you at the game week 10?

I'm sure it will be another good one like always.

My playoff predictions are:

D1 - Burk

D2
1 Seed - Vernon
2 Seed - IP

Out - Graham and Hirschi

Vernon has had the worst luck with these close games (save the Breck game which we were in control of entirely).

The Lion defense seems to wear out in the 4th quarter. We have a lot of 2 way players and it shows.

Also, Div II doesn't seem as deviod of top teams as some seem to believe... Wow, Your rgn 4 picks are interesting to say the least. You really think Mathis is in and Sinton is out? Who do you think gives Orange Grove their 1 loss, Mathis? So then I would assume you are saying that Ingleside loses to Orange Grove (which is very possible) Although Mathis beat West Oso, I don't think they are a playoff team yet.

i am by no means an expert on region 4--i have been a 2a guy forever--and i can't follow all of the scores as well as i used to, so some of these are bound to be rediculous. However, in the big picture, i think most of this stuff is still minor and the major playoff picture should look something like this.

I think it's good, Chuck. Not perfect by any means, but at this point in time what predictions are? Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
