Quan Cosby returns the opening kickoff down inside the Nebraska 10.

2 running plays and then a trick play with Jordan Shipley only net about 4 yards and Texas has to kick the FG

Texas 3
Nebraska 0

big touchdown pass for Nebraska

Nebraska 7
Texas 3

The early play calls for Texas throwing the bal look VERY conservative. Granted...they are throwing against a 30 mph wind.

Probably a smart move early, at least, since this is easily McCoy's unfriendliest crowd ever. How he deals with it may be the key today.

Great half for Texas.

struggled a little in the 1st , but turned it on in the 2nd and lead 16-7...Nebraska needs to get that running game going if they want to even hang close with the Horns...

texas should tear it up in the 2nd half...

If Nebraska could get a punt returner to just fair catch the stinkin' punt, it would be a different game. Field position is killing the Huskers.

I'm a horn fan, but they deserve to lose. That shotgun zone run crap sucks. Without a running QB it does not make sense. Plus they have Charles who may be the best RB in the country, but you would never know because they never just line up and run the ball at anybody from under center. Seen one play today under center and it was a 11 yard downhill smash.

Why doesn't Texas use Melton and Charles on the goal line?

Probably because Greg Davis is still the one calling the plays. My Lord is there another offensive coordinator in recent memory that curls up into the fetal position more often than this guy in big games?

Here comes a different kicker for Texas to try his first FG of the season.

yeah...I was thinking more of a slant or the deep in that they ran earlier for TD. I would have thought they would throw it on 1st or 2nd down and then get in the middle of the field on 3rd down.

Nebraska is challenging this play...it won't be overturned though...

Why's that. I heard Brantley wants to redshirt, and Chiles from Mansfield Summit will probably be a WR or even play defense. Snead might have a better arm, but the game experience that McCoy has is invaluable. Of course, we thought the same thing right before the Applewhite/Sims fiasco.

It's almost an "embarrassment of riches" situation. Texas has enough athletes to field two competitive teams in the Big 12.

Some years it could probably have one win the North and the other the South and then have the two play each other to decide the Big 12 champ — a Fall Game to go with the Spring Game.

It used to be even worse back before the scholarship limits were imposed.

I think Mack learned his lesson in the Applewhite/Simms fiasco. It is Colt's job until someone beats him out. He has earned that right. Texas darn near gave it away today with the dumb penalties & missed kicks (where is Hunter Lawrence, no longer redshirting after Baylor game?). The forced turnover proved to be the difference or Nebraska probably runs out the clock after the 1st down.

Lots of parity in the Big 12. Not as big of a gap this year. Tough teams & tough games remain for everybody. We may see a rematch of today's game in Kansas City.

Texas has talent no doubt, but the "embarrassment of riches" is a stretch. Everybody gets 85 now & only 25 per year. Fortunate to win today. Good ballgame.

I can't see that happening. If he's a proven quaterback, how can you possibly take him out of the game. He still has the rest of the year to go, but he's been great so far. Granted, he has an excellent team around him, but he has made VERY few errors. The batted down passes worry me a bit, but he can over come those. I feel sorry for Snead, because you know he would probably be starting for most teams in college.
