Does a bye week before you play your district rival help or hurt
you. Wylie has a bye week before they play Sweetwater next
week.

i can't tell from personal experience (i didn't play football), but i did not like when we started having bye weeks...it just threw a wrench into the whole friday night football pattern...all of a sudden it was like...what do we do now??? a friday without football??? i think it can go both ways....it can either be a week to rest for players, or a week to lose momentum

Totally depends on how good your coaching staff is. Some coaches get a lot out of the bye week than others. I would say if Coach Sandifer had a bye week before the big game next week that you could be in for a long night because he's one of the best on a normal week, much less two. Who does Sweetwater have, is it an easy game or tough one.

i would think that it depends.
do you have kids injured that are healing and need a week off?
are you on a roll and need to stay in a normal routine?
do you have a pretty good idea of how they will line up and adjust and stuff like that?
how many trick plays do you need to add to have a chance :)

2005 - Wylie 26 Sweetwater 3
2004 - Wylie 13 Sweetwater 7
yep...seems to work alright for Wylie! ;)

If you have alot of injuries the bye week is a blessing. Too bad we can't have one every other week. ;) :(

I think the way it worked out the last two years Wylie had a bye right before the Snyder game and that didnt work out well at all.
