33 carries for 368 yards, average 11.15 yards per carry and six touchdowns in eight quarters of play. It is still depressing every time I look at the team stats and see that Sammy Salas is still our leading rusher after seven games. Granted we have 12 other running backs splitting up the load, but I still sit and wonder. Where would Pilot Point be right now had we not lost Sammy. We were 2-0 and leading Bridgeport 21-12 when our D1 district leader went down with a career ending knee injury. Being 4-3 0-2 and forced to win the next three in a row puts Pilot Point in jeapordy of missing the playoffs for the second time in 24 years, and believe me when I say, "In Pilot Point, that is a Big Deal" I know it is not right to say "What if", but I would just like to hear some of your thoughts on our chances of winning out against Whitesboro, Pottsboro, and Van Alstyne. And also if you think we might have been in a different position had Sammy not have gotten hurt.
