I guess these are kindof interesting to look at, but who really cares? Most teams have been playing non disrtict games, and looking at players and schemes to get ready for district play, so these numbers are about as meaningless as you can possibly get. Also some teams have played tough as nails pre-district schedules, and some have played cake walk schedules that make them look way better than they actually are. Anyway, I guess their interesting enough to look at, if you keep them in perspective. One that stands out to me is Liberty Hill, who has played a brutal as hell schedule, and yet they made two of the three lists. Now thats pretty impressive.

this one kind of goes without saying, but celina is ranked no lower than 6th in all 3 polls...that is impressive. besides, we all know celina to be a powerhouse team and stomp mudholes in all who play them. but still, they are always worth pointing out

Celina is a prime example of what is wrong with these numbers. I know Celina is good, but come on now with that weak schedule.

ROBINSON W 42-14 – This is the only decent win on the schedule.
ARGYLE LIBERTY CHRISTIAN W 28-14
PLANO PRESTONWOOD CHRISTIAN W 28-7
PRINCETON W 59-0
FRISCO WAKELAND W 41-7
PILOT POINT W 51-6
AT VAN ALSTYNE
BONHAM
PROSPER
AT WHITESBORO

Anything less than 10-0 would be shameful with a schedule like this. Sorry, but Celina will have to prove something in the playoffs before anyone outside of Celina is gonna be impressed. I'm not saying they wont do well in the playoffs, but c'mon now, give me a break with this schedule, and then bragging about how great you are.

Celina never has a real tough schedule, but 16-0 state titles are hard to argue with --- having a very tough non-district schedule isnt whats best for all teams, so don't knock 'em

Yeah and its not like Butch Ford can just pick up the phone, dial a number and find somebody to say yeah, we will play you and let you abuse us. Ill take Celina's "weak" schedule and line them up against anyone at playoff time.

While there are many teams taht do NOT want to play Celina I personally know a couple of coaches that called Ford asking for a game to be turned down. These coaches were head coaches of pretty good 3A and decent 4A teams

OK but that should not be a knock on Celina - he is obviously doing what he feels is best for his program ....................... and like I said above, hard to argue with state titles

I totally agree with Stang Red! Celina should put up good numbers but do they really mean anything. What would there numbers look like had they played the same schedule that Wimberely or Abilene Wylie has played. Even Sweetwater schedule is one of the toughest this year. The only numbers that count are the ones that get you out of district and give you a chance to play in the playoffs were it's win or go home, and it doesn't matter how you win, JUST WIN BABY!

Well Celina has a lot more of one thing than sweetwater wylie or wimberly have and what they have matters a lot more...state championships

A "reliable source close to the Buckeyes" told me that Celina would not return Gilmer's calls when the Bucks were scrambling to find another opponent earlier this year after Canton withdrew from the game in Tyler.

So I guess, in a way, you're right. It's not like he can pick up the phone. He just lets it ring. "Don't call us, we'll call you" as the saying goes.

Id put Cuero, Gilmer, Wimberly, and LH against Celina and in the playoffs if Celina makes it to one of these teams and wins then I will be a believer. Until then, Im not sure

Your absolutely right! None of us have any 2A state championships and probably never will. Dang, you really got us on that one.
They could get away with playing all that weak a$$ compitition and still win those 2A state championships, but will soon learn that wont cut it with the big boys in 3A, come late November and December. I can see them going 2 rounds deep, or maaaaayyyyyybe 3, then it's basketball season.
Watch and see!

You think Celina will only go 3 deep in the playoffs! This is our situation...We'll be district champs and go DII. First round easy and then Dallas Madison in the second. A worthy advisary, but we should win. If we do we'll coast through the region and meet the Region I champion - who should be Sweetwater, who again according to massey ratings we should win, to advance to the championship game against Giddings, Wimberly, Cuero, or WOS. So if we get past round 2, we'll be at least at wk 15!

LOL, I cant get over how you Celina folks think that 3A is going to be the same 2A cakewalk yall have become accustomed to. Yall have been playing such weak competition, that youve developed this false sense of security and you dont even realize it. Look at who youve played and who you have left to play in district. Give me a friggin break! Sure youll win that district easy. So what. Any decent team should. And yes, you will probably play a weak opponent in round 1, but if you seriously think any game after that is going to be anything like the competition your used to playing, you are in for one heck of a reality check. You act as if rounds 3 and 4 will be the same easy cakewalk as your accustomed. How arrogant can you be??? Any and all teams still left standing after the first 2 rounds are top quality teams that will beat you like a drum if taken lightly. Just keep right on thinking its an easy path to the title game if you want, but that will be the attitude that will insure, Celina will be watching it from the bleachers.

Oh we know 3A is tougher than 2A, but we'll still be there! As far as taking teams lightly, don't worry. Celina's coaching staff's secret is to always overrate every team we play! They almost go overboard. It's just us proud fans that talk crap! LOL
