Corey Fulbright & Emmitt Smith to throw first pitch at the Texas Rangers first game. I read this in the Midland sport section today. Thought I would pass it along.

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Texas Rangers' 2003 home opener April 4 vs. the Mariners.

In a special tribute, Everman High School senior Corey Fulbright will accompany the NFL's all-time rushing yards leader to the mound for the first-pitch ceremony. Corey was paralyzed from the waist down after sustaining an injury in the Texas Class 3A Division 1 state football championship last December in San Antonio.

The Rangers and Dodge will present Corey and his family with a check for $45,000 to be applied toward the purchase of a specially equipped van. Members of the 2002 Everman High School football team will also be present.
