You're right, but Ingleside was pretty banged up for that game. Five starters out, several of which played both ways. Still kept it close until the fourth quarter.

If Hutto remains in the top 10 for the rest of the regular season, they'll be the first team in your top 10 to get eliminated in the playoffs.

I think La Grange might be up there before the end of the season.

I know injuries have taken there toll, but Cuero is not playing very good football at this point. Palacios broke off some good runs against our defense that they shouldn't have. I know our defense is better than they are playing and I guess sometimes it is hard to get up for a team that you should beat handily. I believe in the Gobblers and hope that when we get our players back we start to "click" again.

Wow, #6 and #7 will most likely meet in the 1st round of the playoffs.

I think Gilmer is ahead of the rest, but #2-#10 are about even.

True. 2 years ago Palestine wasn't ranked all year, but playoff time came around and it turned out they may have been the most talented 3A team in the state, nobody took notice with them being in East Texas and far from any media market.

I have not seen Giddings play, but looking at stats and who they have played, they get alot of credit from me. A friend saw them play and said they were awesome, definitely a team that can win it all.

I would think that # 4 out of 178 (or however many) teams in the state is "credit". But then what do I know?

Hopefully the La Grange Leps will acquit themselves well Friday, beat Caldwell and get some love on this poll. :)

... and with the lack of respect for Caldwell even after starting 3-0, you think that's going to impress someone on here?

Don't hold your breath!

Come on Pud, you and me both know the Leps win by 30, sounds like to many people out for Caldwell.

Massey poll has La Grange at 21 and Caldwell at 22. That's all based on a computer model. If the Leps win they will bump up 2 or 3 slots. Meanwhile no love for the Leps on the 'Low?

Flying under the radar guarantees you another playoff game or two. Look what happened to Giddings last year. They were picked fourth or fifth out of an eight-team district last year and went to the quarterfinals.

Rankings are a jinx until you establish a "perennial" program like Cuero or Southlake Carroll.

Everyone guns for you.

To be accurate...Massey's is NOT a poll...its a statistical ranking system based soley and completely on the numbers. Its a very interesting formula, Massey explains it on the site.

Giddings won't move up if no one above them loses. The top 5 are completely solid, and I don't see much changing. There are some teams that deserve to be in Giddings spot as well with some losses on the season already. Just a matter of opinion and how these football schedules have faired out so far.
