What happened?
LAKE WORTH--Danny Hogan caught an 11-yard touchdown pass with 2:51 left to play and then picked off Lake Worth’s Brandon Harris with 2:05 remaining to seal Roosevelt’s 33-28 come from behind win over Lake Worth to start District 11-3A play.
Roosevelt (3-3, 1-0) then was able to pick up two first downs to run out the clock. The team finished the game with 404 yards offense, including 278 yards passing.
Lake Worth grabbed a 28-21 lead on DeAndre Davis’s 4-yard run to cap a 15 play 80-yard drive that consumed 7:24 off the clock. Roosevelt then came within one at 28-27 on a Derinique Giles 9-yard pass to Aubrey Jernigan. The extra point was blocked.
Roosevelt then held Lake Worth to set up the game winning score. Lake Worth (4-2, 0-1) had 291 yards offense led by Jay Kirscbaum with 99 yards on 18 carries. Harris did throw for 141 yards and two scores.
