La Feria Lions will be in Port Isabel to take on the Tarpons in this district 32 opener. The Lions, recently off a bye week, come into the game undefeated with a 4-0 record. The Tarpons, of the infamous "Seawall Defense", lost the first two games of the season to 4A Edcouch-Elsa and Raymondville, but have come back to win the last 4 games.
Thoughts/predictions?

La Feria did not lose to Lyford. The Lions won that game 35-6.
LF is undefeated, but PI is on a roll and that game is at home. I'll take the Tarpons in this one.

If Tarpons can limit their penalites, (doing much much better on Turnovers) they win by 10+ with home game advantage. The Lions have a thread, at QB with Def Coordinators son, Eli Esquivel and at RB, they have a double threat in Tovar, who speedy RB and is a very good reciever, who runs good routes. The Lions O line, is massive but young, well see how they react to the Tarpons D.
Some history between the 2 in the last 10 years, and this year, it's the first game of district play.
95- PI 14 LF 14
96- PI 41- LF 0
97 PI 21- LF 14 (OT)
98 LF 10 PI 6
99 LF 28 PI 19
00 PI 21 LF 7
01 PI 13 LF 12
02 PI 23 LF 0
03 PI 28 LF 14
04 PI 18 LF 15
05 PI 33 LF 19
Should be another great game, this one will be played in PI.

this should be a good one. PI is the likely winner, although it has been said they are still trying to completely find themselves. I still have to go w/ PI though....La Feria has a decent record so far, but where they quaility wins? I'll say it again PI wins.

PI is going to have a tough time with the Lions but they should come out on top if they don't get hurt or make too many mistakes...we all know what happened when 2 PI players got hurt a few games ago :D

Ozzy, you know there is only one person making that excuse, in PI land.
It will be a great game and I can't wait till Friday.

From RGVSports.com
La Feria - 0
Port Isabel - 7
1st Quarter

Score is still 7-0 in favor of Port Isabel.
According to a P.I. poster on RGVSports.com, La Feria failed to convert on a 4th down, so Port Isabel has the ball now, with 8:00 left in the 2nd quarter and they're "moving the ball with force".

And the weather is a factor now. 1st quarter was a light drizzle, but since then it has become a downpour. HOPEFULLY some of it will clear in time for the 3rd and 4th quarters.
