not sitting at the radio but I think the score is 9-7. Wylie has had two 10 play drives and Wimberly scored on a 60 something yard run.

the way it sounds no one is going to play defense tonight. Wimberly took the kick off and marched down the field. waiting on the extra point.

no reason for Wylie to keep their head down. They've played a very tough non district schedule and beat some quality teams along the way. They're gonna be battle tested when district rolls around.

Great game. Abilene Wylie is a class act...they had the stands FULL with fans who traveled 200+ miles. Very impressed with your team, and your coaching as well. I saw several of the AW players assisting Texans off the carpet...very little trash talk going on. We wish you guys the best in Region 1!!!

BTW, Buse WAS puking on the sidelines, he has been sick all week. They gave him an IV at halftime to replenish him...he was dehydrated.

Sounds like Wimberley had too much offense for the Dogs. I predicted a 14 point win, and it was 19. (darn!)
Congrats on the win and good luck for the rest of the season!

Great win for the Texans! Our defense started out a little slow but picked it up throughout the game but we still have a long way to go on D. We have had the injury bug bite us pretty good and it'll be great when we can get about five injured players healthy to give us some depth. The offense looked outstanding tonight with Buse having a big game and the Beatty-Thompson combo hooking up for two scores. I was really impressed with the turnout of the AW crowd, for such a long drive you guys really know how to support your team. My hat goes off to ya'll and the players who were well disciplined, see yall next year at your house!!

Stang Red, you told me to mark your words, not being a bad sport but I was on it, 3 TDs just two PATs shy. ;)

good game by all. I was glad to see Wylie keep in the game most of the time. Was a solid effort against a very good Wimberly team.

Long drive!!!

Yes Gold, we have work to do on the defensive side of the ball. It is GREAT to see an explosive offense like we have shown over the last few weeks, but we all know defenses win championships, and if we do not improve our D, a repeat would be unlikely. Deep in the play offs, you arent going to out score the opponent, you're going to have to STOP them at one point or another.

The GOOD NEWS is the defense is improving, and the coaches know what they need to do to get us there. I have faith in them and the system they have designed.

BTW, what a block Todd Gold put on that defender to spring Buse for that big gain!! WOW!!!!! He is tough when in the open field!

Stownhorse,

No one is forgetting about Giddings, you can be sure of that. But Giddings, being in Region 3, has its hands full there BEFORE we get a chance to meet them (assuming we can get by Cuero, of course) in the semi-finals. WOS, Hutto and LH will test Giddings pretty hard.

We would relish the chance to redeem ourselves against Giddings. Hopefully, we will get the chance.
