Gilmer started driving from their own 15 after taking the opening kickoff. It's now 4th-and-a-foot at the Rabbit 43.

Kinne takes it on a QB draw and gets to the 41 for a first down. Broadcasters say it is "cold" there, already around 60 at kickoff.

Curtis Brown just caught an 8-yard TD pass.

Burgin's PAT is good. 7-0 Gilmer with 5:59 to go in the first quarter. That's one of the most time-consuming drives the Buckeyes have gone on in recent memory.

Curtis Brown is coming out of the game with some sort of injury. He had caught two passes in this drive and Brennan Thompson another one.

Kinne has just scored on the fourth play of the 47-yard drive on a 3-yard TD run. Burgin's PAT makes it 14-0 with 2:32 left in first.

I can't believe it's 60 there anyhow. I'm in Gilmer and it's still about 75. Atlanta's only 55 miles NNE of here.

Atlanta had a good KO return, but has been forced to punt. Jules Johnson fields punt and brings it back to his own 23. First quarter over as Justin Johnson is thrown for a loss of one on first down.

Jake Ashley just caught about a 40-yard pass down to the Atlanta 31 on 3rd-and-13.

Kinne hits Lamar Harris for TD right after that. Burgin's PAT is good. With 7:29 left in half, it's Gilmer 21, Atlanta 6.

Atlanta is driving. Now the Rabbs are going for it on 4th-and-1 from the Gilmer 29.

Roosevelt Falls makes first down, but is stripped of the ball. Gilmer's Zack Jones returns it to the Atlanta 48.

Jamell Kennedy just caught 55-yard TD pass from Kinne. Broadcaster from Atlanta says Gilmer could probably beat some teams in 5A.

Roosevelt Falls scores on 4th-and-goal from a foot out, capping 60-yard drive. Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after TD forces Rabbs to go for two, which fails. With 7:51 left in third quarter, it's Gilmer 35, Atlanta 12.

Lamar Harris catches short pass in flat from Kinne and turns it into 45-yard TD play. Gilmer 42, Atlanta 12, with 2:04 left in third quarter.

Curtis Brown has apparently not returned from his injury in first quarter. I hope they're just resting him.

First play of fourth quarter is a long run by Justin Johnson down to Atlanta 35. Five-yard facemask. First down at Rabb 30.

Johnson takes it on next play down to Atlanta 16 for 14 more yards. However, after play, Gilmer is flagged for 15-yard personal foul.

Reserves have all been playing for a while. Atlanta's looking forward to the big Fifth Quarter at the bowling alley.
Final score:
Gilmer 49
Atlanta 12

The scoreboard was immediately shut off. Can't say as I blame them. Atlanta has certainly done this to Gilmer way more often than we have to them over the years.

Atlanta outrushed Gilmer 215 to 202. But Gilmer had 316 passing to zero for Atlanta.

Atlanta travels to Mount Vernon next week and Gilmer hosts Sabine as both begin district play.

From Smoaky.com:

"Coach Traylor confirmed tonight Curtis Brown was on crutches after suffering what appears to be an ankle injury---but not sure how severe...and they'll await MRI results...not sure when the MRI will be done or when the results will be available."
David Smoak

Another receiver named Jake Ashley was also hurt in this game. He may be out for quite some time. I heard an estimate of three to four weeks for Curtis Brown. The good news is that Gilmer really does not have a viable opponent left in regular season. I don't say this to brag. It's just true.

Gilmer also has a lot of depth, which will now be needed.
