View Full Version : You have to remember one thing about the UT vs SHSU game

The game was a very significant historical occasion. Remember SHSU is the oldest university in Texas while UT is the biggest state university. This game was the first time these two titans ever played against each other. Hence the aweness of history.

Phil...did you realize that Texas has never played the university that is closest to them??? That would be Concordia. Also, they only played SW Texas 1 time (1930) and have never played Texas State. They have also never played UTEP. Look at all the in-state rivalries they have passed up on.

Has Concordia ever had a football team?

my best guess is that they, like UIW in SA, do not field a team.

negative - CUA (as its known now) was founded in 1926 as Concordia Lutheran College, a JUCO. Around 1985 it became a 4 yr university

I played baseball for the CLC Stags (they are the Tornadoes now) in 1976-77.

I have a friend who was driving up from Houston to Dallas with her 3 year old son and he saw the statue for the first time recently. He asked her, "Is that Jesus mommy?" :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we've played Houston fairly recently. I remember back in '02 we played them @ DKR and then I think we went down to Houston the next year.

Or you weren't talking about Houston at all and I'm sounding like an a$$....:)

It would be nice to play Stephen F. Austin since it is located in the oldest city in Texas and would be note doubt very historical and awesome indeed.
