The Celina Bobcats (4-0) travel to Pizza Hut Park to face the Frisco Wakeland Wolverines (3-1). I don't know anything about Frisco Wakeland, but I'm sure some of you will be happy to fill us in!!

Emory Rains @ Mount Vernon was runner-up, but I don't think we have posters from either community. :(

I bet I can guess who everyone thinks will win! :D

Does the rest of the region have the week off or what? There had to be some other game in the region besides a game that amounts to little more than an organized scrimmage. If Celina wants to put three digits on the board on Friday they can do it.

Emory Rains and Mt. Vernon may not have anyone on this board posting for them, but that game, in my opinion, will turn out to be far better than what's going to happen between Celina and a 1st year varsity program.

We can only play, from last week on, whoever the UIL put in our district. This may be uglier than last week. Last week was ugly at all levels.

Celina is just plain stout at all levels. Heck we split our JV into 2 teams and still win with both. The freshmen are awesome as are the jumior high teams. But then again so is the 1st-2nd graders also. They are 5-0. My grandson is on that team! Woohoo! My son plays JV. So our lives are consumed by football and we love it.

That's not an accurate comparison because Celina almost always plays up.

If Sweetwater scheduled San Angelo Lakeview, Lubbock Estacado, Amarillo Caprock, and some El Paso schools you would have a more accurate comparison.

Celina does not play up!!! Argyle Christian, Prestonwood Christian, & Robinson. That would be far from playing up.

If you haven't seen them play, you don't know what you're talking about. All 3 are salty, and will make noise in their respective districts.

Private schools with the exception of a few(Jesuit, Lynch, Dunne) are like playing 1A-2A schools. Robinson comes out of 17AAA. Haven't heard much out of that district lately.

Fletch is correct. You are wrong. Argyle Christian is a very good team. Here's a carrot, now run along.

You are correct. This season and next is quite far from playing up. Celina does have to play a non-district schedule and quite frankly it would be silly for them to be playing a bunch of 4A schools right now. It wouldn't be very productive for either school involved. With the move back to 3A it will probably be a while before Celina is able to fill a non-district schedule of 4A teams. But if you look at the last several years in 2A you will find nothing but 3A schools in the non-district schedule.

They could still schedule potential top 15 3a teams.

True. But it is easier said then done. Looking at the schools in the area, there aren't a lot of top 3A teams. We'll have to wait and see what they do when the next schedules are done. I think a lot of teams around the state in all classifications were left scrambling after realignment.

SLC and Chico would be a good game! The Big Dragons vs. the Little Dragons!

I wouldn't say i dislike Celina. I think folks need to wake up and realize you don't stay that good for that long with out kids moving in. I'd say the same thing about SLC.

Butch Ford is doing EXACTLY what he learned from GA and that is scheduling a favorable pre-district schedule. GA used to talk about it all the time. He was a big fan of getting his players confidence up before the district schedule rolled around. Celina could be playing Kennedale, Everman......

you are right Rabbit and that happens with quality programs like that. It's not recruiting when families are moving in because they want to be part of that tradition. It's natural. And it all starts in the elementary schools and junior highs....thats whent he majority of them are moving in because they want to be part of that Celina High School tradition soon!

I'll be there. What number is Bobcat1 junior?

#61. Little bitty feller. ;) I hope tomorrow is more interesting than tonight. 56-7 isn't very interesting to me. See ya at Dr Pepper Park! Wait who are you Fletch?

You are right, it was boring, but the JV really executed well. I was impressed with their hitting also. You sell junior short . He's going to be a stud! Bill Elliott and those coaches know how to develop linemen. I will enjoy watching his progression.

See you tonight!

They said they would get him there. He is a junior though. Only next year to go. He is eating me out of house and home trying to put on muscle and get stronger. See ya tonight I guess if you introduce yourself. ;)
