Sorry guys, having Vernon as back-to-back GotW was unavoidable. Just didn't see any other games that will have board community involvement.

Breckenridge Buckaroos* (5-0) @ Vernon Lions (2-3)

Let's hear what you guys have to say about the Buckaroos and the Lions!!

*gotta love that mascot!!!

Vernon in a rout. I watched Breckenridge play lil' ol' Jim Ned
in the bowl a few weeks ago. It was like watching two
J.V. teams play. I left that game convinced that Clyde was
going to take third place in 7-3A.

I'm rooting for the Buckaroos, but I think Vernon takes this one at home. But I dont think it'll be a rout. Maybe a 2 TD win for Vernon.

This is a good test for the Buckaroos. 5-0 record but have not beat anyone that is a Top 50 team. Midland Christian game was a good win for them. Beat MC similiar to the way Monahans beat them--scored late in the game to take the lead.

Clyde may win third, but it wont be because Breck will be staying home in the playoffs. Breckenridge will be in the playoffs.

Breck in a close one---I don't think the Lions can stop Vick. Two of my favorite Bull's non-district rivals playing. Always enjoyed games involving these 2 teams. They personify great Texas HS football tradition, and both always give a good game.

The past several years these two team have played close. Vernon's running game is looking much better. They have this lighting and thunder combo that is hard to stop. The passing however has got to get better if they want to stay with it and be a more balanced team.

This is the Lions homecoming game. I think it will be a close one either way.

I'll go with my home town Lions in a close game. If I was not from Vernon I would probably have to pick the Bucks.

But you did imply that one of those teams would stay home.

Can anyone post who Breck has played thus far to get the 5-0 record. Just wondering. I am going with my LIONS. I would like to see our passing game improve though. Time will tell.

I take Vernon at home. Breck hasn't played anybody really and only beat a 2A team 7-0. Vernon comes in @ 2-3 and is much tougher thus far than Breck. I'm still pissed off that Graham and Breck aren't playing each other this year.

Don't worry about Snyder, we will be back on track. All I'm saying is that Breckenridge will be in the playoffs. I hope ya are playing in the post season, but you have to play three other teams to get there first.

Midland Christian beat Vernon 28-3. Breck beat MC 28-27. Should be a good close game. Breck's first two games did look bad but they have come alive. They run the ball very well and are very physical on defense.

I thought on KTXS, they said that Sweetwater would be only the 2nd team in 3a to reach the 600 mark..

Yea we even have cops patrolling the halls for safety reasons, because of the school shootings.

Thank you! I don't know how many of these guys have seen
Breckenridge play this year. But, they didn't look very good
vs. Jim Ned in the bowl. The game was close at half time.
Jim Ned had 6 or 7 kids that never left the field. That's why
Breckenridge wore them down at the end of the third and
start of the fourth quarters. Vernon doesn't have a depth
problem.

I have seen Midland Christian play, I can't believe that Breck is that weak of a team if they were able to hold MC off.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess we will find out tonight. Vernon had a great pep rally this afternoon. Lets get em Lions!
