View Full Version : How do YOU help YOUR team...

Besides cheering, how do you help your team?

I know Cuero started an 'adopt-a-player' type system... At the start of the year the booster-club got together and drew names or something and ended up with a foster-child (or player, whatever)... They call their adopted players during the week and get 'em pumped talk to 'em etc... Seems to be working...

But since I couldn't adopt a player... Here's an example of what I do....

I yell and get crazy in the stands, letting the players know that atleast a few fans out there give a crap about how they're doing...

But my best way of helping the team is when they're running the two-minute offense without any time-outs left...

When this situation comes up, I take off my clothes and go streaking across the field so that the refs have to stall the game... Our coach will give me the 'nod' and will alert the players by hand-signals that I'm about to go on the field... Once I make my appearance, our players run to coach and go over what they're going to do...

The only thing that sux is the opposing team feels they have to help out (or they're REALLY fruity) so they tackle me, kinda hurts when they have pads and I don't...

I need to try that last part,

but in 2001 all of the art classes made cards for each game so that each player got 2 or 3 cards.

But for real, we had a streaker in our summer softball league. After being paid $100, he started in left field and jumped the fence and ran across the field in between pitches and jumped in the back of a truck and drove off into the dark. It was classic!

I help my team by becoming a spy and getting all kinds of wonderful and handy information on our opponents before we play them. I travel extensively and go to great lengths to gather the info. Then I pass it along to my buddies on the coaching staff in advance of the games. :D

I bring a shortwave radio to the game and tune it to the same channel as our coaches. I tell them what plays to run, etc. Although they tell me to shut up and get off the channel, I know they really appreciate my imput and that I'm probably responsible for Burnet's success this year and last. :D :D

Another good way to help your team is to travel the state in the offseason and pay large sums of money to division 1 prospects to move to your town.
