Hoover Road trip pics!!

Okay!! First of all, I want to answer the, what seems to be, "the burning question".......just WHY did we go to Alabama to watch a High School football game??"

I got permission from PPHSfan to post this pic and give an explanation. We went to see PPHSfan's son play in this game. He doesn't talk about it in the open forum because he wants to keep his sons life "his life" and off the board. He is high profile athlete but he will have his privacy as far as THIS board is concerned. I have followed his son's athletic career since he was in middle school and I respect PPHSFan's wishes when it comes to this.

PPHSFan will answer no questions nor make any comments about this fact, so don't even bother!!

Oh.....and for the record....he is a STUD!!!!

This was the most awesome high school game I have ever had the privelage to witness. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see so much talent on one field!!

The waffle house was in Hoover, the building with the columns is the hotel we stayed in.

Yes..the first pics of the casino were taken in Vicksburg.

We were at Boomtown at about 10:00 last night, we didn't do anything but eat and throw away $5 -$ 10 each on the "video poker" machines!

We felt too guilty about leaving the "youngsters" on their own!!

We had stopped at a store to take a bathroom break (the GUYS decision, not mine)!!!

A lady walked up to me and Jason with a tie down strap in her hand and asked is if we wanted it, she had no use for it.

Jason said, "sure" and took it. She walked back to her vehicle and Jason said, "We should have taken a pic with her and called it "random lady at a convenience store". I told him to go ask her if she would take one.

He walked over to her vehicle and she vehemently protested her picture being taken....Jason said Okay, but walked back with the other strap (both of these minus the ratchet).

Anyway, we were kinda laughing about it and up she walks AGAIN and wants to use a lighter. We gave her one and she walks to the grass over by the store and proceeds to light 2 pieces of paper she has on fire. After it burned for a bit she soaked the papers in a water hose....and brought the wet lighter back to us.

At this time we are all watching her in fascination..and a little bit of fear. She proceeds to plaster the wet pieces of paper on her passenger window!!

At this time we decide we need to get the heck out of dodge because she is coming our way .... AGAIN!

Reuben is driving and starts backing out, me and Jason are in the back seat and all the sudden I hear Jason say..."woah"..I look out the window and SHE is just standing there looking in!!

I crack the window and she hands me a lighter, I told her that was okay we didn't need it, she insists on me taking it, saying" it's okay, I have no use for it"!!

At this point, she goes from "random lady at a convenience store"...to "crazy strap lady"!!

Okay...one last story before I get some much needed rest.

I wanted to buy PPHSFan a Thank You card from the Road Trip Gang for being such an awesome host and letting us share this amazing weekend with him.

Anyway, I was afraid to go to Walmart alone (you know how my sense of direction is)...and he was the only one awake, so he lied to him and told him I needed a birthday card for my dad!!

I figured he could get what he needed, and I would snatch up a card. Well, it soon became apparent that we were going to do all of our shopping TOGETHER!!:D

Not only did we go to the card section together, he was so kind to help me pick out a card for my dad who's birthday it WASN'T!! LOL

I grabbed a cute one and figured I would find some excuse to go back, and in the meantime, I had spotted a thank you card.

Luckily, he got sidetracked by some "old school" T-shirts and I was able to grab the card and hide it under the "useless" birthday card.

Mission accomplished?? Yeah, I thought so too!!

We got up to the checkout stand and he had his items, and I had my "card(s)"....he offered to pay for it so we could check out faster. There was NO WAY I was gonna let him pay for his own Thank You card...lol.

I grabbed a pen, that I really didn't need, so I would have more "items"...and said I was just pay for it.

We got it back to motel and signed it and Reuben gave it to him at breakfast...after he read it, I said, "now you see why I couldn't let you pay for your own card??" He got a kick out of that, but what really had him laughing was when I asked him if he needed a card for his dad's birthday, because I had no use for that one....it was just my cover.

I was telling this story to my mom when we got back, and she said, "John ( my step-dad) birthday was the 27th, so I just addressed that card to him, and looked like I was "on top of things".....LOL!!

They decided it wasn't a "REAL" Ranger mom road trip without the condoms....so they surprised me with one on the antenna!!:mad: :D

We passed the Welcome to Texas sign coming back home and they had to have a picture of the Welcome to Louisiana sign too.....so we circled back and got it.....we then had to drive 10 miles back into Louisiana to turn around and come back and get a picture of the Welcome to Texas sign!

Jason and I went into the Casinos...didn't let the young un's in.....except for that one time, but they had "UNDER 21" stamped on their hands.

I didn't let any of them moon anyone....I made Reuben slow down.

I will admit, I was NOT in "mom mode"...this was my vacation too, I made every effort to enjoy myself as much as I possibly could!!
