Th e defensive end on tennese that spiked A.Gurode when Gurodes helmet came off needs to be suspended not jsut from the game but for the year that is totally uncalled for I dont know if any of you seen him do that in cowboys game?

SintonFan_inAustin

did he step on his helmet and the helmet came off then step on cowboys head once he notice the helmet was off?

Old Tiger

HE RIPPED THE HELMET OFF HIMSELF AND THEN STOMPED!

very true. they made a good point too about the shoes he is wearing. Tennessee has a grass field, so they have like 7 inch spikes...

Old Tiger

I wouldn't say spikes but they are wearing screw ins.

Adidas410s

he should be gone for at least the season...hopefully the Titans would just release him after a move like that. WOW!!! Gerorde has been a good OL player this season and any type of extended loss could really impact the team's prospects this season.

that dude needs to be left alone in a room with a the entire cowboys offensive line.

its still a difference from a rubber bottomed shoe you would wear inside the RCA dome.

I don't think so but he could not have a job after this week and it would be hard for him to find another job.

What he did was WAY WAY stupid..BUT they are not cutting him anytime soon..He was a first round pick..He probably SHOULD be cut, but not for that play, but because he has not lived up to his first round stature

I do hope that the Titans cut him, and the league fines him and suspends him at least a year. Cheap shots like that have no place in sports, any sports, period! The NFL really needs to send a strong message to make sure that everyone get it. But he will probably be fined $10,000 and suspended a game or 2. And will be laughing about it in the lockerroom, sad.

That would be a HUGE leap by the NFL..usually it is 2-3 games at the most

That was totally uncalled for. I had actually stepped out to get a snack when it happened so I didn't see it live, but everyone keeps showing the replay. The league had better be as kind to him as he was to Gurode.

MagicMan
10-01-2006, 03:39 PM
the cowboys should sign him if he gets cut. the cowboys need another huge DT and haynesworth is great. parcells would adjust his attitude. TO wouldnt even talk about the eagles today. he said he would start talking about them next week so im guessing he wont have anything to say before the game. what a team player.

Hopefully charges will come against that idiot. What was he thinking? This is a televised game with cameras everywhere!
Gurode beat him on that play and this is how you show revenge? Be a professional and beat Gurode the rest of the game but not by aiming for his eye and slicing up his face?!!!!
I'm PO'd. Gurode has had his best year yet and hopefully he'll be fine. They did show him stitched up on the sideline so it does look OK, but goodness.
This guy deserves a 3 game suspension at least!

Yes I know, but would still be unprecedented if they went more than 4-5 games, and usually 2-3 games is the norm..NOW I am not saying he should not be out longer, just saying what the NFL USUALLY does

The most outrageous thing about the whole incident was that Haynesworth was arguing with Fisher and the refs after he got ejected like he didn't do anything wrong. These idiots need to learn that in today's game you're ALWAYS going to get caught when you do that nonsense. If the refs don't catch you then the eye in the sky will.

That jerk should be removed from the league for 1 year with NO salary to keep him warm first. Then he should be made to practice against the cowboys O-Line the rest of the season with no helmet and no cleats.

I have been watching football for almost 50 years and I have never seen a more cowardly and brutal act by a player such as I witnessed by Albert Haynesworth of the Titans on Sunday. What he did to Andre Gurode was just like pulling out a knife and sticking it in his back---to me there is no difference in his act. I don't want to overreact, but the NFL has no place for players like Albert Haynesworth---he should be fined the max and kicked out of the league. Realistically, I imagine he will get a $50K fine and maybe a multi-game or 1-year suspension. What do you think?

kaorder1999

NateDawg39

I think the league (in all there glory), is to stupid to kick him out. Just look at past incidents and if I am not mistaken, very very few have been kicked out for incidents such as this. I see a multi game suspension and a "hefty" fine. Not hefty for him but larger than the usual NFL fine.

Bearkat

I see a $100,000 fine and a 4 game suspension.

A 340 lb man stepping onto the side someone's head; it's a wonder he didn't kill him. If Haynesworth can't control his actions any better than that, he belongs in Congress, not the NFL.

Five games PLUS 500k would mean he works an entire year for free. That would be harsh. Trust me 190 grand is a lot of money to lose.

He could step on my head for half that.

Come on guys, let's take of the blue and silver sunglasses. This is an good fine for what he did. He just lost 200 grand. That's a third of his annual salary. Not to mention his stock will go way down, and he won't be getting any endorsement deals. SURE, what he did was WRONG and STUPID. But he is paying for it now. Anyone here can feel free to brush their foot over my head for a meager thousand bucks. Just grab your money and get in line.

From the article "I think five games, five paychecks is substantial," Fisher said.

Sounds like Fisher thinks the punishment suits the crime, so to speak.

Reported by the Monday Night Countdown guys.

I just heard on ESPN that the police contacted the Dallas Cowboys organization and told them that if the Gurod wanted to press charges they need to let the department know because they are willing to go forward.

The 5 game suspension will cost him around $500,000.
