I thought SMU sucked this year. Why are they playing good

SMU 45 SHSU 14
SMU 55 Arkansas State 9
and now a 17-0 lead over an emotionally-driven Tulane team at halftime.

I told you we were going to challenge for a bowl game this year.
Awesome half by SMU.
3 points allowed in the last 4 quarters of football.
4 sacks on the night...not to mention Justin Willis has just been awesome.

It's a shame it couldn't at least be a close game for Tulane's sake. :(

Actually it was the second game cause I didn't think SMU would beat Texas Tech at all.
I thought we were going to beat North Texas and we got dominated.
Obviously something has changed since then.

touchdown Tulane. SMU receiver Bobby Chase missed an easy catch, it was intercepted and returned for a TD.

I don't know that I've ever seen someone appear so excited about an SMU game.

Don't forget Tulane has had some great teams in the past. In 1998 they had a 12 - 0 record and should have got some strong MNC recognition and consideration. They beat several great teams last year such as SMU 31 to 21, Rutgers 52 to 24, Army 49 to 35, Houston 48-20:eek: and in the Liberty Bowl BYU 41 to 27.
Also in 1939 they had an undefeated team during the regular season and had only a 14 to 14 tie with North Carolina keeping it from being perfect. They met the National Champion Texas A&M Aggies in the Sugar Bowl and lost a close game to the Aggies by a 13 to 14 score.
