Young to make first start against DallasAssociated Press
National Football League News Wire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vince Young will make his first NFL
start for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Dallas
Cowboys.

The No. 3 overall draft pick played in spot duty in each of the
Titans' first two games, but the Titans are 0-3 and hope the
quarterback who led Texas to the national title in January can
provide a spark to their offense.

The Titans drafted Young over Matt Leinart and local favorite
Jay Cutler because of his potential.

Coach Jeff Fisher had promised he wouldn't start Young until the
rookie was ready, and he publicly said Monday that veteran Kerry
Collins would start against Dallas (1-1).

But Collins, who was not signed until Aug. 29, has struggled to
pick up enough of the offense to help. Collins has thrown six
interceptions and only one touchdown pass and has a passer rating
of 42.3 -- less than Young's 58.8 rating in spot duty.

Troy Aikman's rookie year was a learning experience. It will only make him better in the long run.

Yeah but Troy Aikman never threw the ball like he was jump-roping.

Troy Aikman also didn't get anywhere near 3000+ yards passing with 1000+ yards rushing his senior year of college either.

You figure the haters would learn better after Vince has proved them wrong over and over and over and over and over......

I think when Roy lays the lumber to him when he runs, it will help Vince to become a pocket passer. These aren't college kids he will be running through. This isn't a sorry defense. They will hit you. Poor Vince. :D

I'm becoming more excited about this game now.
I don't want Vince to do bad but I sure do want to see the Cowboys dominate.

See, the problem here is not Vince. It's the fact that he's on a godawful football team. That and the fact that the Cowboys have a very good football team.

I think Vince will surprise people today with how he does. He's a gamebreaker and he's just got this charmed thing about him when it comes down to crunch time.

Also, seeing him in the preseason. . .he did a nice job when he had to scramble. He's also not going to be some sliding wuss. At 6'4 235 he'll prolly be rolling DBs and safeties are going to have to tackle low.

I want Vince to play well but I want the Cowboys to win.

One more hour till game time. Vince Young will start for the Titans. Terrell Owens will start for Dallas. This could be a very good game. I'm more interested in seeing how Vince does, but I'm still pulling for the Cowboys to win.
