RICHARDSON – Forney combined a punishing first-half rushing attack with testy defensive pressure to upset Richardson Pearce.
Peter Smith's 116 rushing yards – 90 came in the first half – led the ground attack for Forney, which recovered an onside kick with less than a minute left in the game to deny Pearce a comeback attempt.
Forney's defense sacked Pearce quarterback Michael Morse often more than 10 times.
Morse finished the game 22-of-20 with 243 yards.
This is a big win for the Rabbits. Pierce came into this game 3-0 and ranked #3 in the area by the DMN. The Rabbits start out district 1-0.
