Congrats to K'ville. Good game played by Jasper against a tough opponent. Not sure how many times K'ville has ever beat Jasper before but this has got to be big for the Wildcats tonight.

The game I couldn't believe was the OF/Silsbee game. OF's QB must be the real deal. My Cardinals tonight struggled against HJ barely eeking out the win.

I haven't been keeping up with non-district very much, but I figured HF would be the only easy win for Jasper.

Hate to be a critic, but we need to get out of the spread and go to the I or some other pro-type formation. That is what we were doing from the spread. Wierd seeing the quaterback in shotgun with a back six yards behind him. It didn't work and it was one wrong turn after another.

Kirbyville has a good group. Several very good and very fast athletes on that squad. Alvarez (love him or hate him) is a good offensive coach. He mixes up the plays and formation very well. They sell their fakes and play with intensity. They certainly deserved and earned the win tonight.

Maybe we get off the goose egg next week.

Are the coaches in Jasper in trouble?

Did Kirbyville steal the Jasper play book again?

2000 was the last time Jasper started 0-4. That was the next to last season in 4A. The Bulldogs finished 3-8 that season and went 12-2 in the final season in 4A.

IMHO I think that Jasper could have won at least 2 state titles if they would have had a different offense. Jasper always has huge physical linemen and backs that could have taken advantage of them. I just don't understand...............:thinking:

I totally agree with Duckbutter. Granted it's always easy to sit in the stands and be a critic, I have friends who are coaches that have said Jasper should've won a state championship with the talent we had in 2001. One of those friends helped Tatum win last year. It kinda caught me off at the time he said it but it's becoming embarassing now that he might be right.

That 2001 team was so talented...have to admit though Burnet was too. We just were not the least bit ready for what they brought to the field.

It's painful. Mom told me that Channel 12(I think) said that Jasper was the most winningest team in SE Texas history. I don't know how true that is. I know they based it off of # of wins and not winning percentage but either way it's a sad commentary when we're now 0-4. I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

She also said that she'd whether be the winningest team in SETX than win 1 state championship....I disagreed:rolleyes:

WO-S is the best of all time in all classifications in winning percentage from what I have seen. Wouldn't be surprised if Jasper has the most wins over all in the area. The Dogs been playing a very long time.
