I second Tiger Baseball's suggestion. Next weekend will be a fun time in Snyder, even with the Tigers playing out of town Friday night. Other than the bikefest, you have White Buffalo Days and also a first-class concert with the Kentucky Headhunters at the coliseum. If anyone needs more information, just pm me.

Let's all go down to Dumas Walker's

What's the deal with the White Buffalo in Snyder?

From the chamber's website...

Snyder got its start in 1878 as a trading post for buffalo hunters and took its name from W.H. (Pete) Snyder, who operated the trading post. The area was once prime buffalo hunting territory, and on October 7, 1876, J. Wright Mooar shot and killed a rare white buffalo on Deep Creek about 10 miles northwest of Snyder. A replica of that buffalo stands on the courthouse square beside a historical marker calling attention to Mooar's hunting career. The White Buffalo Festival held each October pays tribute to Mooar and this phase of county history.

Wow...I went to the coliseum tonight and throughly enjoyed the Kentucky Headhunters. I missed Joe Elie, but otherwise it was very good. Congrats to the people responsible for putting this one and looking forward to the 2nd anniversary. For those out there that have Harley's or any other bikes, it is well worth the trip.

Did you go on a hay ride when you arrived?
