Why is insurance premiums going up? I saw on the news that in the futur the job place's will most likely not be able to carry insurance for it's workers.

Healthcare costs are a runaway train in this country with no end in sight.

want me to tell you how to fix high health care premiums?

Get people to quit going to the emergency room for stupid things like tummy aches or a sprained ankle. The er charges insurance companies out the whazooo and there is nothing the Insurance companies can do about it. It is time for americans to take responsibility for their own actions and to make fiscally sound decisions.
That and lawsuit reform. Quit letting judges and sappy hearted juries give away these big verdicts. There has been legislation passed but it isnt enough.

The fix is easy. Turn the insurance program upside down, make it like car and home insurance. In those cases, you have large deductibles, and file claims only in cases of big losses.

Currently, in health insurance, after small deductibles, we file CLAIMS. Therefore the administration cost is out of control. Switch to high deductibles, and pay for all those tests out of pocket, and watch the providers scramble to make their product affordable to the average person!

Even right now, Walmart is going to provide some 300 generic drugs for only $4.00. Now THAT is progress! Pay out of pocket, and watch those drug companies SQUIRM. :) :D

Injured is right on but it also goes deeper. Make people more responsible and take away the frivilous lawsuits that make doctors run unnecessary tests. There are no easy answers though.

Is that wealthy? I tend to disagree.

It's not too shabby if you live in Snyder or Sweetwater.

We never went to the doctor when I was growing up. :) I have to pay the same for my wife and two kids that someone else pays for themselves and 7 dependents. I think they should pay more - call it a breeding tax.

Lower Class $24,000 or below
Middle Class $25,000 - $49,000
Upper Class $50,000+

I'm not sure how old you are, but I think your wage scale is going to go up as you get older.

I'm here to tell you that $50,000 is not "upper-class". It's more middle class.

How do you know what you will be making when you get out of college?

The middle class is so diverse though. It's really hard to tell. A person making $50,000 a year in "middle class" is better off than a person making $30,000 a year in the "middle class."

Oh. Well I guess you could use that as a guide. $50,000 is a pretty healthy salary for someone right out of school without any experience though. Of course, it all depends on the field.

I can attest to that fact...Try to make a house payment, property taxes, car, home, health & life insurance, utilities, groceries, car payments and see how much you have left over on $50 G. Anybody depressed yet.

Well my family makes it making around $37,000 a year. Sure we don't have the luxury of vacations and all the extra stuff but we still make it and have the money to go eat out quite often. I would love for my family to make $13,000 more.

Ditto - I'm not depressed - I live it! There are just too many factors involved in determing what middle class is. Where you live is probably the biggest.

That's true. $50,000 on either coast would be near poverty level.
