Oh wow. I'm pretty surprised with this poll. Rio Hondo blows their 4A opponent out of the water, and they move DOWN instead of UP in the polls.

Now I feel bad for Raymondville. Rio Hondo will have a chip on their shoulder.

Decatur beat Sweetwater and............SWEETWATER IS GOOD.

Therefore Decatur should be top 5. :D

doubt if a poll will cause a HS team to play any harder .... they'll go "110" regardless

I agree with the poll, except for Gilmer being #2. They shouldn't be in this poll because what I keep reading, they are in a class all by themselves.

Rio Hondo dropped from #11 to #16 after winning to 4A Roma 40-0...and you think Palestine had it harsh.

No one thinks we have a chance anyway, so we won't have a problem flying under the radar.

I dont know which poll you guys are referring to, but last weeks AP poll had LH as #10. So Old Green, for them to be tied for #9 could be taken as they didnt move up, it was Wimberley who moved up in the polls to tie them.

They haven't played any playoff caliber teams so far. All due respect to the teams they have defeated. I wouldn't call that "rolling' through 3A, yet.

There was actually a tie for 10th between Decatur and LH, with 9 places listed before. :)

If Im not mistaking, the last time they were 3A, they only lost three games in two years and made it to quarterfinals.
We will see what happens.

I THINK CUREO NEEDS TO DOMINANT A GOOD TEAM BEFORE THEY SHOILD BE RANKED NUMBER ONE .L/H COULD HAVE WON THE GAME WITH A BREAK OR TWO .CUREO DOES NOT HAVE TO PLAY THE TOUGH SCHEDULE THAT A LOT OF THE TEAMS PLAY <PALSTENE , WOS ,SWEETWATER ,GILMER ,ATLANTA ,WIMBERLY, AND GIDDINGS TO NAME A FEW.>

easy hold your horses... Cuero had a huge problem developing a schedule for this year for many reasons. Geographical location, teams not willing to play, and just making it work with others. Cuero did in fact beat LH, whether you acknowledge that, its up to you. LH came out to prove a point that they weren't as weak as they were shown in the playoffs last year.(due to injuries and whatnot).. I am trying not to make this a homer post, but Cuero is as good as they come right now. Cuero has 4a bay city to come along with a good lavernia team. So what if they somehow didnt end up playing 2 top ten teams. Its geographically impossible for the most part. LH had to travel far enough, not to mention cuero going 3 hours for the bandera matchup.

Well Panther Mom...you are right, this Friday will be the deciding game for who will stay in the top 10. I wish I could gush all over the board with confidence about our victory, but this isnt last year, or the year before. We can only beat you if we play all four quarters...and play them well. I think we will be up for the game, hoping the last 4 games have prepared us for this one. A let down at this point will be tough to swallow. See you there!

Anyone that cries over Liberty Hill moving up in the polls didn't watch the game with Cuero last week. Both teams knew they had beed in a footballl game at the end of that one. I just got my voice back today. Special mention goes to the Liberty Hill Defense, who played thier hearts out against the #1 ranked Cuero.
