Yes you are right Red Raider we turned the ball over 6 or 7 times, 2 times going in to score inside the 10, and also two times inside of our own 30 I believe. The final score ended up being 23-6.

I'll take Sealy by a td. They have faced 3 tough teams and will be ready for a win. Warton has also played a tough schedule and has a good win over Sweeny. I think Sealy will find a way, though it will be close.

Needville is my favorite to win this district.

it is hard to tell about this district.

preseason pick as district champ: WC is 1-2
Needville- 3-0
sweeny 1-2 lost to 2 4a's
wharton- 1-2 played 3 4a's
stafford 0-3
columbus 2-1
sealy 0-3
brookshire royal- 1-2

after this week it will take a lil shape. my predictions
WC at sweeny (WC)
sealy at wharton (wharton)
needville at columbus (needville)
royal at stafford (royal)

I'll take Wharton as well. Wharton has a lot of speed to contend with as well as a good QB and recievers.

P.S guys Wharton did not give BH anything. BH's D was resposible for most of the turn overs in the game. BH played Jasper and Bellville as well and caused multiple Turnovers in both games.

Box scores don't always tell the whole story. You might see alot of turnovers and think that team just didn't take care of the ball. In the Bellville/BH game, I credit the BH defense with the hard hits that caused those turnovers. After seeing them in person, I'm sure they were responsible in those other games too.

There is still a lot of media-magic in Sealy football. When two teams with only one win between them can be the area 3A game of the week well into the season it makes you wonder. Wharton didn’t make the playoffs last year, Sealy hadn’t been there since 2003 and still this game draws a lot of media attention. No doubt it has to do with great past histories, especially Sealy’s with those state championships.
I have no idea if a coaching change is anywhere on the horizon in Sealy, but can you imagine the response if that was to take place? They have a new school in a growing area, the best weight room and gymnasiums of any schools of comparable size in this part of the state and an industrial and a new home growth base that has allowed the school board to make an eleven-cent cut on the tax rate. A substantial size housing development is taking place north of town at present and several other tracts of land are being sub-divided. Only drawback… some of that growth may prefer soccer to football.

Every weekend, LHPM asks for requests. Gotta spread the love around. You must not post very much or read very often to make this kind of statement since it has been discussed since Week 2. It seems every week someone has a comment about the GoTw. Can't please everyone.

Very interesting information Scotty. I see the new school from Hwy 10 and it is beautiful. Do you think Sealy will go 4a next re-alignment?

Pud: I don't think Sealy well go 4A for a while as they are fifth largest in District 24-3A with an enrollment of 732. However the lower grades are growing at a pretty rapid pace. I don't know what's normal for most 3A schools, but Sealy has around 75 kids out for football in the seventh grade and another 65 or so in eighth. Most of those junior high coaches also help on the sideline of Friday nights and that makes many people ask "why are there so many coaches at Sealy," not knowing how many kids are out for athletics in the lower grades. Houston is coming up the read real fast and many felt as though Brookshire would be by-passed with the population spurt, but I understand that a big housing development is taking place in their school district right now. Looking back in my high school days at Sealy we were in the same district with Spring Branch, Katy, Cypress Fairbanks, Tomball and Waller, all Class 1A. And we won it a couple of times. While it doesn't seem so far in the past I do have to realize it was over 50 years ago.

i'll go with rbarker on this one. i felt the score with barbers hill could have easily been reversed. wharton is a very good team not to be underestimated. when their offense gets settled down they will roll some points out. good luck:clap:

it was a hard fought game from start to finish. Wharton had alot of opportunities to score but dropped alot of passes have to give credit to Sealy secondary. but Wharton defense shut down Sealy's offense for the most part but every kickoff sealy ran the ball to their own 35 give or take. Ansley had a total of 165 yds and 4 TD's but it was Phynon's big Interception with 55 sec. left in the game sealed the game
