Man dies after being run over; girlfriend arrested
Oak Cliff: Police say they were arguing; new charges expected

An east Oak Cliff man died Sunday evening after being run over by a car that police say was driven by his girlfriend.
Police said James Williamson, 47, and his girlfriend, whom they did not identify, got into an argument about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Simpson Stuart Road in southeast Oak Cliff.
Mr. Williamson started to walk toward the woman, who was in a Chevrolet Cavalier.
She drove in reverse about 500 to 1,000 feet, put the car in drive and then ran over the man, police said.
"He was under the car when she backed up again, and that's when part of her bumper came off, and then she left the location," said Dallas police Lt. Rick Watson.
Mr. Williamson was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, where he died about 6:10 p.m. Sunday.
The woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Lt. Watson said Mr. Williamson's death will change the charges she faces.
"I don't know whether they'll charge her with involuntary manslaughter or what exactly our traffic division will file," Lt. Watson said.
