that you should only coach in a place for 5 years because each year you tick off 10% of the town.....so about five years half the town hates you and its better to just move on

He must not have been a very good coach. If you believe you can only coach at one place for five years, it means you can make good excuses for the first 4 years why you did not get the job done.

I once read where Gordon Wood said something along those lines.

Of course, he was at Brownwood for more than 20 years.

Actually it was before I moved from Sinton and so some Sinton friends may need to help me in case my memory on what I have read and heard is not accurate. Coach Stevenson coached football at Sinton from the mid 50s to mid 70s and had great success here. It is not to our (Sinton's ) credit that he is not mentioned on the Sinton ISD web site or even a web site of his own. I wonder why his name was overlooked for our new elementary school (if it was).

Actually, Stevenson quit coaching as far back as 1966. He retained the Athletic director position, but the head coach in 1966 was Sam Harper.
